Question about Nintendo Super NES Console
First you have to find out if the problem is with the AC adapter or the console.
Look at the console where the AC adapter plugs in. You should see a round plastic part in the middle of the receptacle with a small hole in the center. If it is broken or missing the problem is most likely the console. In this situation the easiest thing to do is find a new one from a reputable seller. The broken one is worth 10-15 on eBay.
If it looks good take the console and AC adapter to Radio Shack and have them test it for you. If the AC adapter is no good they should have a replacement available.

Also open up the console with a nintendo security bit. These can be found on ebay. There called 4.8mm bit for consoles, 3.5mm for games.
Get a digital meter put it one the diode setting/continuity. Or the ohm setting. There is a fuse to check.
On the old style snes with the eject button. It is near the plug for the power switch and directly in front of the 7805 voltage regulator. If this is shorted replace with a 1.5 am pico fuse. Look for F1 on the board.
On the new style it is under the metal heat sink. The marking is called F1

To get to these, you will need to complete the castle at the end of worlds 3 & 6 as super mini mario. Once you defeat the castle boss, mario will drop down the little hole, and go to the new worlds
