I've lenovo laptop T61 the computer asked me to update and then switched off. since then it goes to login screen but as soon as I enter the password it gives me a fatal error... c000021a

I have lenovo brought by my brother from america it has pop password given by his friend now when he asked his friend he told that he had forgotten now i cant access it the screen comes to be with password...

The password i have been using to logon to windows on my lenovo thinkpad t61 is now not letting me in. How can i override, or get in, to reset the password?

During the boot up process you will see on the screen press delete to enter set up

Press either delete or f2 during the boot up process to enter BIOS scroll down to set user password you can change or remove your password from there

Reset factory password on t61 lenovo

password for what? bios or windows?
if it's the windows password, press the f8 key before windows starts and choose safe mode, choose administrator for the username and then go to user accounts and remove the password for your account.
if it's the bios password, you have to strip the laptop and pull the bios battery on the system...it looks like a large watch battery but becarefull not to break anything.
