I have an identical problem with my JVC digital cam corder on a brand new DELL Inspiron 530s running Vista 32 bit. The computer is slow to recognize the camera and when it does, it will control the camera but no video is transferred to the computer. I've spent the last 3 weeks with DELL support, both hardware and software and they are unable to solve the problem. To date, the PCI firewire card has been replaced and the hard drive was replaced, both by DELL. The problem persists. Now they tell me that the problem will need to be solved through Microsoft Tech Support. The camera works fine on the HP computer running the same version of Vista. The camera is recognized in the Device Manager under Imaging devices. I've tried three different software programs, Roxio, Studio 11 and Microsoft Movie Maker. It doesn't appear to be a program software problem but somewhere else. Hardware conflicts have been ruled out and all device drivers are the latest versions. The Vista operating system has been re-installed twice. This is just one of those mysteries that may never get solved.

new JVC camera gz-mg330 is not being found when it is connected via USB

Exactly the problem that I have.

My JVC camera is recognised by both Moviemaker and my vista version of Studio 10, yet the preview image is not shown and it won't capture any movie. Has anyone sorted this yet or is it just another one of Bill Gates complete rip offs with microsoft cheating it's customers?

The solution is to go to Device Manager locate the IEEE devices and delete the OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller, make sure that the IEEE card is out first. Put back the card and scan for hardware changes, it should pick up the card again, then switch on the camera and it should run the movie maker software. You may need to do it each time but it works.

Need the USB Driver for Mac. for the Panasonic gs65.

According to the user manual under OS X the driver will already be installed on your mac. Have you attempted to plug in the Camcorder to the mac. You could also try to use a firewire cable to the firewire port on the camcorder or the mac.

I don't have the panasonic camcorder but a sony and what I do is attach it to the mac with a firewire cable then open imovie then under the file menu go to import from camera and it picks up the camera and then use the camera controls in imovie to control rewind and play and capture the movie. Of course, the import is done in realtime. A tutorial for this can be found at Hope this helps in some way.

Glad to help YOU!

I think all you need is a SOFTWARE called DriverWhiz.
It can be found HERE.
Click on RUN (or SAVE AS - if you use Firefox) and let it be installed on you machine. By using this DriverWhiz you will be able to:
# find missing drivers for any JVC device
# update the existing drivers
# backup your existing JVC drivers

I have a jvc camcorder gr-d370u and i cannot seam to find witch connection i can use to download to my pc now i have two ports one is usb and the other is dv witch one i can use and how

1. You need Windows XP with all the latest updates.
2. You need a 6 pin to 4 pin DV cable.
3. You need a firewire card.
Once you plug everything up, launch Windows Movie Maker (download from Microsoft if not installed). That should do it.

One important note. You can't transfer movies with just a USB cable there are more adapters required
Hope This Helps

When I connect my JVC Camcorder to the computer it stays connected for a few seconds and then disappears suddenly.. It is connected through a Firewire connection. All this began after installing SP3

You can uninstall SP3 and see if its working. In case its working and you also want to install SP3 then first uninstall the software of your camcorder from the computer. Install SP3. restart your computer and then reinstall the software for your camcorder
