I have lost the same thing. And they are tripping talking about its $70 for a button at the manufactures. And tmobile saying I have to pay for damages when I didn't even drop this phone for the button to fall off. If anyone knows where I can go cheaper email me. candiceskall@fcb-hsvv.com

I have the same problem. I lost the button below the green talk button. At first I had it and tried to snap it back in, but nope. Now i've lost it completely. I am going to the t-mobile store, but from the ound of it, I am not going to get any help. I'm in the adhesive business and it's a result of the adhesive coming off / failing.

i have the same problem...lost the same button..was taking a picture and looked down at my phone and the button was gone...please email me if anyone have a solution to this problem..THANKS

  • Versatile337 Aug 26, 2008

wow, this is unbelievable that this many people have the exact same problem. Wouldn't you consider this a defect??

It's the exact same button for me too.

  • Anonymous Sep 03, 2008

Mine fell off too. They told me that it isn't a manufacturing defect, so they won't cover it. They said it would not have fallen off if I did not drop the phone, which I did not. How can it not be a manufacturing defect when its happened to so many other phones.

  • XiiiSniperz Sep 03, 2008

    I have the SAME problem.
    Its a Defect.
    It has to be.
I mean it just slipped off easily while the rest are intact.
I dont think its worth repairing though..
The Wing is by no doubt one of the suckiest smartphone's ever.. I mean Just look at its RAM.
You can't even run a decent browser besides internet explorer.

  • TeAmoLP069 Sep 05, 2008

I also lost my menu button on my Wing. I bought a new set of buttons off of eBay and had to pay $30 for them. now I just have to figure out how to take the faceplate off........

  • Anonymous Dec 29, 2008

I just noticed that the windows button on my wing phone is gone. It is the one on the left under the green answer button. What is it calls so I can buy a replacement. I can't have it like this. Thanks

  • giggygwen Jan 28, 2009

My button fell off too and Tmobile will not acknowledge it as a manufacturer defect. I did not drop my phone to cause this. it MUST be a manufacturer defect. TMOBILE should be responsible for the repair.

  • lgmavo Mar 07, 2009

I have the same problem also. I lost the soft key button on my tmobile wing, the OK button. So I called tmobile about the problem because its still under warranty and they told me it was not a manufacturer defect and that there were no other cases like mine. Those MF!

  • mscyprien04 Mar 18, 2009

My windows button fell off too, I called t-mobile the first time and the rep basically told me i was S-O-L, and that i had to file and ins. claim $130. I called them yesterday and asked if i buy buttons could i get them to put them on the right way and, they told me i was still under warranty, and i get my new phone in 7 days. Keep trying, for every rep. that says no theres' one that will say yes. Oh and i told them about this site!!!

  • Anonymous Apr 02, 2009

this is some ******** that t-mobile won't fix their ****

  • Anonymous Apr 09, 2009

It sounds like I am one in the crowd. I was talking on my phone and as I went to hang up the call, the button below the green call button was gone. I have never dropped my phone. I am having trouble finding a replacement piece as well. No luck with TMobile either. Any help would be great.

  • vfranco Apr 15, 2009

my buttons did not fall off - only the paint came off! the phone is less than a year old and all of a sudden, the paint started to chip off the "ok" and "windows" buttons and the 2 above them.
i hate it - now my buttons are clear and it looks cheap!

  • Anonymous Apr 25, 2009

I have had the same problem with losing my buttons, but if you search on ebay, there is this seller in china that sells replacement buttons. Don't get stuck with t-moble not offering these items. it's disgusting. they rather sell you a new phone! On ebay, the cost should be no more than 12/13 bucks. go with a star seller

  • sulanski May 11, 2010

I am in T-mobile technical care, I just received a call about this issue and am working with our teams to find a resolution and avoid you guys having to pay for new phones when this happens

I have had the same issue twice now, both times I was able to buy replacement buttons on e bay for about 10 dollars, however there is no instructions, and I think it was my fault it broke the second time because they are so delicate and difficult to replace without breaking a clip. However they are cheap and easy to find on e bay if you wanna chance the repair yourself!!

If you can't get a replacement under warranty there is both an T-Mobile Wing Repair Guide and a third party T-Mobile Wing Repair Service, If you try a self-repair make sure you feel comfortable with opening devices like that.

Please flood calls to tmobile customer service about this problem. HTC is saying they want a credit card number before the repair and tmobile is not acknowleging it as a defect. I am sure with continued complaints, TMOBILE will have no choice but to acknowledge the problem.

Hello everyone I had the same problem as many of you!!! I lost the windows button under the green button. I bought a replacement set on ebay and they send me the right piece, (really nice new set of front keypad).  I replaced the outer front keypad and it was hard but I manage to complete the task.  To my surprise when I put everything back together and try to use the keyboard, the damn thing didn't work.  I guess that now my phone looks nice cause it has a new outer keypad but now I can't use the sliding keyboard in order to type.  The phone still works but the keyboard does not work so now I have to text message using the screen keyboard.  It has to be a manufacturing defect cause this phone was treated extremely well and the same button fell off as many of you have experienced.  I guess it is better to buy a new phone and just leave the wing in the trash.  I am just waiting for tmobile to come up with a new windows device.  If not I am moving to Verizon, Tmobile has a good service but their phones **** plain ****!!!

My wing phone has a poor battery. I can hardly talk for 45 minute

Sometimes overcharging can do this, look online to find another battery if you think you overcharged your phone. If the phone came like this call t-mobile for a replacement if you are still under warranty if it covers batteries. I have a Wing too and it does have alot of problems.

My tmobile wing keeps freezing up when I try and text

It took me a long *** time to fix my wing, but this is the only way i found. shout out to my homie muhammed for showing me:

hold both left and right toggle button simultaneously, and use stick to press the reset button. continue to hold buttons....

it will reformat. press send to wipe the phone.

then, use active sync to completely wipe the micro sd memory card once wipe is complete

this will delete the static charge virus

lastly, go to tmobile website and download the rom software upgrade.

reconnect the wing to your pc

charge the phone past 50%

click on the new software upgrade icon and follow instructions.

the screen will show 3 lines, green red and blue with the new upgrade version numbers.

once complete, you have completely upgraded the tmobile wing to the fullest extent

if this does not work, then sadly enough.... your problem is from dropping your phone too many times and causing the components to become loose connections. aka the sliding keyboard.

i also noticed that the only thing stopping the keyboard from stopping is a tiny square piece of plastic. but then again, this phone was crafted in china. chinese plastic isn't the most sturdy composite material.

hold down both soft keys and press the reset button

T-Mobile Wing

What you can do is...
1... hold down the two soft keys at the top. (don't let go)
2...then take the stylus pen and stick it in the reset hole (underneath the volume. It's very small so you can miss it.)
You must now hold them at the same time.
4.Then take the stylus out and a message should appear "This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacture default. Press send to restore to manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel.
5...At this point you would push the talk button and the phone is brand new again. you just have to wait about 5 mins for the phone to load again.

Here is it put an easier way... Hold down the two identical keys with your right hand at the same time. (Use your middle finger for the right button and your index for the left.) Then put the stylus in the hole on the left side of the phone wait for it to shut off then remove stylus with your fingers still on the buttons. Then wait for message then hit green talk button and your all set to go!

T mobile wing user code unlock

gregorydtatum@yahoo.com i had the same problem you must do a hard reset it will wipe out all your data (phone nums etc...) but it will reset your phone to factory default. heres how:

1 there are two soft keys on the wing one is the button on top of the send call button the other is a button ontop of the end call button hold them both down at the same time.

2 there is a reset button on the left side of the wing (above the place the micro memory card goes) use your stylus or something to press the reset button for 1 or 2 sec then release the reset button while you are still pressing and holding the two soft keys

3 continue to hold the 2 soft keys the screen will turn black and a message will be displayed (giving you a warning that all your data is about to be erased do you want to cancel or accept the reset) you must choose accept and the phone wipe data back to factory settings and unlock all you have to do now is reprogram contacts and whatever other info you had in the phone

if you do this right you phone will be back to normal i promise e mail and let me know if you fixed it p.s. if you could help me find the wing unlock code if you know it and the procedure to unlock to another carrier please tell me

peace, TATUM

if the sim is definately ok, Phone is faulty, blacklisted or not designed to be used in your region (eg gsm phone in cdma only area)
ask your service provider if your IMEI (type *#06#) is blacklisted, if so the previous owner has registered it lost or stolen or not paid there bill

Did you try a soft reset, stylist in the small hole on the left side, if all else fails, you may want to try a master clear...warning it will erase everything on phone expect for what is stored on sim card and memory card.
