Question about Mitsubishi VS-50605 50" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

TV problem I left the tv pluged in while I was gone and it is dead again now. Same readings of 15.8 vdc on pin 4 of IC951 and 1.7vdc on pin 1 of same IC. Is there something that would be taking out IC951?REDCAT55

Go over the schematics and lift one leg of every diode that are feeding pin 1 of the ic and also pin 4 one of those diodes must be leaky or its the regulator down circuit, pull the regulators associated with the IC and test out of circuit.

Vs 5043 mitsubishi no picture

Dear dc_rock,
These the most common failures for this TV Model VS-5043- VZ3:

1. Check base bias Voltage of Q217, for 0 VDC (BIASED OFF) if .7 VDC (BIASED ON) check C268 (22 UFD 50 V) off C OF Q215 V-Protector on the SIGNAL PCB.

2. Vertical Beam Blanking Active, check PIN 4 of IC401 for 3 VDC. If missing check IC202 (5V REG) PART # 266P932010, on The SIGNAL PCB.

3. Check Pin 6 of IC200 for 9 VDC if low or missing check IC203 Part#
270P210010 on the SIGNAL PCB.
Thanks for using FIXYA, big IRISH.

Tv does not turn on. Makes ticking clock sound ?

Hi,

The blinking light means the controller QA01 in the AV_TERM system board is booting and driving the TIMER/REC RED LED light accordingly. This failure mode is true for many conditions, not exclusively for the main PS board PE0071. It could be caused by many things, LOW B, SEINE, AV_TERM, LCD, PROTECT, etc.

Specifically for PE0071+12VDC circuit failure, which is the most common , listen for the LINE relays SR80, SR81 coming online.(ticking clock sound) If several (3) or more clicks are present when applying power to the TV set then suspect the +12, 20, +32 VDC inverter is faulty.

As a quick check, you can disconnect P807B. If the relays cycle every 1-2 seconds then is most definitely the +12VDC inverter. Check for voltage level at optocoupler Q881 pin 4 and this should not be cycling. This point is the VCC for the oscillator. Repair or replace board 75002913 as necessary.

TROUBLESHOOTING: (this is my own, not the OEM !, try at your own risk!)

  1. Check for LINE1 input voltage level at inverter on sheet [4].
  2. Check for LINE2 input voltage level at inverter on sheet [3].
  3. Check for STBY +5VDC & +25 VDC ( observe correct GND REF) page [4]of PE0071 POWER
  4. Check for +22 VDC out of regulator on page [3] out of Q822 Emitter
  5. Check P809B connector for :
  • P809B (12) POWER = 3.00 VDC (+/-0.2)
  • P809B (11) POWER_SIG = 0.00 VDC (HIGH to Power on TV)
  • P809B (10) PROTECT = 0.00 VDC
  • P809B (9) ACDETECT = 3.00 VDC (+/-0.2)
  1. Check for PFC_OUT = 368-371 VDC
  2. Check for +12, +20 & +32 VDC inverter page [5] of schematic manual.

For +12 VDC Inverter, suspect components:

Q880 STR-W6765 PSR (works really hot!!)
C888-C890
D884A and related switching circuit components.

Good luck,

My RCA 50'' DLP Rear Projection TV will not turn on

Hi, This could be several things as the power goes everywhere. Long distance troubleshooting so hang in there. First try a cold reboot by unplugging and replugging after 30 minutes. If nothing check P1 on the light engine for the following voltages: pin 2 5vdc, pin 3 3.3vdc, pin 9 3.3vdc, pin 12 12vdc. If any of these are not good it is the formatter board. If all are good, does the color wheel spin at all. If this is OK then check J4 on the light engine, the ballast enable line should be 0 vdc in stby, .5 vdc at turn on, and 2.5 to 3.25 vdc in run. If good, is the light engine trying to fire the lamp? If not, inspect the J4 connector and the lamp power supply, If they look OK then the lamp ballast is probably bad. This will give you something to do for now, Good Luck!

VS-5061 -- BLACK SCREEN

Good Day, petterk;
Try resetting TV by unplugging from the A/C outlet for3 to5 minutes. This a 1994 Model, you can't new boards from Mit's. Try this:
1). CHECK FOR 1200 VDC AT PIN 1 OF CONNECTOR "DK". IF LOW OR MISSING CHECK R5D9 100 OHM 1/2 OFF PIN 1 OF THE FLYBACK ON THE MAIN PCB. 2). CHECK IC401 PIN 8 FOR 28 VDC IF MISSING CHECK R510 1.2 OHM 1/2 W OFF PIN 5 OF THE FLYBACK. IF OPEN IC401 PART # 272P239050 MAY BE SHORTED. BOTH ARE ON THE MAIN PCB. 3). CHECK FOR SHORTED OR LEAKY Q2H0, IF BAD APPLY FOLLOWING CIRCUIT CHANGE TO CORRECT. ON FOIL SIDE OF PCB-SIGNAL, SOLDER A 1S2471 DIODE CATHODE TO BASE OF Q2H0 AND ANODE TO EMITTER. LOCATED ON PCB-SIGNAL AT IC201 PIN 2. PT # 264P045040 AND REPLACE Q2H0 PART # 260P559030. 4). CHECK C2H1 100 UFD 35 V C2H2 1 UFD 50 V AND C2H3 47 UFD 35 V OFF OF Q2H1 IN THE SPOT KILLER CIRCUIT ON THE SIGNAL PCB. Good Luck, big IRISH. PS: or call for service, Cost average repair about $500.00, you do the math maybe it's time for a new TV. G.L.

Now these are the technical terms, if you do not have the experience you may need a qualified person to do this. Hope this helps
