Hi, I had this problem using a Olympus DS-2300 recorder. I installed the DSS Player Software on my PC and when I tried to download the files from my device to the PC I had this problem.

You will need to check the location of a file called DSSjobNo.dat. The application I think tries to copy this file into the default location for the Download folder, usually somewhere in your My Documents. If it can't copy the file there for some reason then that will stuff things up.

To check where the application is expecting the file you will need to check a value in the registry. This maybe a little tricky so get someone who knows there way around the registry to help you. The location of the entry is HKCU\Software\Olympus\DSSPlayer2002\Dictation Module\download\InstallSetting The value is JobNoFilePath and will hold the path to where the application is expecting the dssjobno.dat file.

Armed with this knowledge you can then check if the dssjobNo.dat file is in that location. If not copy the file from C:\program Files\olympus\DssPlayer (this is where I found the file on my PC) to the location the registry entry specified.

Or if you know what you are doing you can change the reg entry to go to the location you want the file to be in. Useful in my case as I wanted the download path for my files to be on a shared folder on the network and I wanted to keep it all together.

Hope this helps!

Corrupt Outlook Express 6 .DBX File

You might use following methods, short guide from Microsoft below and if your corruption is severe check this out https://outlookexpress.recoverytoolbox.com/ Recovery Toolbox for Outlook Express

1) Identify all the .DBX files (folders) that you are going to restore but which do not exist yet on the new machine. This list of files would only include folders that you have created yourself and would not include folders like inbox, outbox, etc.
2) Start Outlook Express and create a new folder for each one you identified in (1).
3) For each new folder you have created you *must* highlight it - select it with your mouse as if you were going to see what is inside it. We know it is empty, but Outlook Express will not create the .dbx file until you do this. [Thanks to Ethan and "Biggles" separately for their input]
4) Close Outlook Express. Now you will see that your Outlook Express installation will have a .DBX file for every folder you are about to restore.
5) Now restore the .DBX files - that is you replace the empty dbx files created in 2 and 3 with the files from your backup.
6) If you restored from CD it may be that the read attribute on the files has been set. In this case you will need to ensure that the read attribute is cleared for each file you restored (right-click on the file and choose "Properties"). [Contributed by Aaron Kuhn]
7) If all is well, when you open Outlook Express now you will get all your restored messages.
If you receive a message in your message body window "cannot display folder, you may be out of memory or disk space" after restoring, then it is likely you missed step 6. Go back and ensure your DBX files are NOT set to Read-Only.

"how to fix error code 0x80040702

The 0x80040702 error is common on computers on which you are trying to install a game or piece of software. The error will show for a variety of different reasons, but is almost always shown when you are installing something on your PC. There are several causes of this problem and several ways to fix it, depending on the cause. Here's what you need to do to fix it...
The biggest reason why this error appears is because of missing DLL files on your system. To fix this, you must first see if your PC has any of the missing DLL files on your PC and if it does, then put that file in the right place. To do this, click on Start > Search. Then search for the filename the installer claims is missing. If any results come up, then copy the file into the C:\Windows\System32 folder of your PC. If there are not any files with that name on your system, you should search for " download" on Google, download the file and put it into the C:\Windows\System 32 folder. This should cure the problem.
If that method does not resolve the issue, you should then perform a clean out of any leftover settings that previous installs might have left. To do this, browse to C:\Program Files\ and delete all the files inside that folder, clean out your PC with a registry cleaner and restart your PC. This should stop the error if it appears when you try to perform an upgrade, repair or reinstall of your software.
If these don't work, you might have a virus infecting the files or settings the program needs to install. To combat this problem, you should download an antivirus program and then install it on your PC, allowing it to scan your system. It will find and remove all the infections on your computer, which might stop the error from appearing.

Transferring MP3 files from PC "C" drive "My Music" folder to SD card

you may want to try downloading only those that didn't download the first time. Sometimes when you try to download a large file (all the songs) it causes the "error message" you talk about. You may want to delete files already downloaded, or save the files downloaded to a different file folder, and try the download again.
