Scanner not working right

I had a problem with my computer where I had to run a recovery. Well after reinstalling my lexmark x1240 and driver from the website my scanner is making a funny noise and is not scanning the image properly to the website. I am trying to deposit a check for usaa deposit at home, the scanner worked before with the site. Can anyone help?

Apprenticehave you checked to see if there is anything stuck in the scanner area thats the same thing that happened to mine and there was a paper clip stuck in where the runners are for my scanner
