Kenmore Elite Oasis Dryer with Airflow problem

We have a Kenmore Elite Oasis Electric Dryer model # 110.6703. It is almost 2 years old and on the display unit the letters AF came up. I looked in the manual and that means airflow problem. I have removed the back of the unit to clean out any lint and thoroughly cleaned the lint area, as well has cleaned the line. When I turned the machine on with the line unattached, there was little airflow. Without clothes in it it will run the full cycle but as soon as I put wet clothes in the AF appears. Any ideas? Help! Thanks.

    I bought this dryer and within a week, Sears had to bring me a new one~ but they did it kicking and screaming. I had to get VERY assertive on the phone and threaten to call the BBB. We had the replacement dryer about a week and had to call them back out to fix something with the air flow. It is now 9 months later and we are having the airflow issue again. This product truly sucks and it's not a cheap purchase either. I will never buy anything from Sears again because of the customer service and I will definitely do my research on my next dryer purchase.

Thank you, Rlcarter! After reading your solution my husband took the back panel off and explored to find that that was indeed the problem. He fixed and now dryer works perfectly again.

Did you try removing lower access panel from front of unit. this will give you acees to the main lint filter housing. a few 1/4 in screws will take it down and loook in theer for blockage.. and althoughyour vent line is clear did you check where ei exits house outside housing can become blocked as well

you must disassemble the unit and clean the lint out of the heating unit area, it is lint catching fire and could be dangerous to continue using your unit in this condition. a vacuum cleaner should do well to clean the lint and the drum must be removed to do a proper cleaning

Kenmore elite oasis dryer model #110.6708 will not operate. flashes f-40. what does f-40 mean?

F40 = thermal fuse blown.
If the fuse is OK the error points to a communication problem between the machine control board and motor control board (check connectors).

44 flashes if the motor control detects a low voltage condition.
This error code could also be caused by poor air flow, loose wiring harness or a malfunction of the electronic control board.

You can disconnect the vent hose from the back of the dryer & compare that airflow to the airflow at the outside damper, they should be almost the same.

If you have a multimeter and the ability to safely check the voltage at the dryer outlet, you can check for 120 volts at the outlet for the dryer.

If the voltage is low or drops when the dryer is running, this is causing your problem.
You could have a loose wiring connection.

If the outlet voltage is okay, you could have a wiring connection problem between the outlet and the control board of the dryer.
