My tv has ghosting.also seems to have bright bloom area to left center. i had it serviceed once before, and repairman accessed menu and entered codes which cleared problem. does anyone have codes or info.

I see that these are codes for the IR remote..This would be fascinating to find that the programming codes can correct a clear disfunctional video drivers issue, and perhaps even a video control board failure mode, which is precisely what's going on here.
From a further analysis,..you may find this of some interest.
It has a ghosting problem and the only way to adjust it is in the sub
menu which you cannot get to. Also the 50v500 is known to have a light
engine problem and that red glow is a sign it maybe having problems.
There is a reset a tech can do in the sub menu to correct the red but
if the reset doesn't work your looking at replacing the light engine.
In any event, I think you will need to have the convergence chips
replaced. There are two of them and they must both be replaced. They
cost around $50 each and require advanced expert soldering and
electronic skill to do. A shop usually charges around $400 for the
job.
