On my Panasonic rear view TV, the sound is in effect, but no picture.

The picture is completely black and was working fine until I plugged in my PS3 to play a blue ray dvd. The dvd played fine on the V Component, but when I switched back to view cable the picture was blank.

I attempted to to play a dvd again and that was blank. Could I have possibly blown out the bulb by playing PS3? If anyone has any suggestion, please email me. Thx

Hi, I have the same problem as well. Although we are not sure whether we are just replacing the bulb or the bulb and housing unit? And then need instructions on how to do it. Also, is it in the front or the back.

    Thank you SO MUCH!

The lamp time reset will be or should be in the owner manual---Google the model number with keywords "lamp install" with the model number and the "manual" with the model number---Google can be a great help.

I think my bulb blew out but I do not have an instruction manual and I'm not sure how to replace the bulb. Can I get a copy of the manual for the VIVITEK DLP TV RP56HD21-B?

Web site was no longer available last time I checked. HOWEVER...if you go to www.fixyourdlp.com they have step by step instructions. It is really quite simple. I have changes mine twice in the 5 years that I have my 56" Vivitek. Start out by unplugging the TV. On the back you will see 2 screws to remove the lamp door. Once open you will see the lamp holder which is also held in by 2 screws. Once they are unscrewed the canister and lamp can be removed. Use rubber gloves when replacing the bulb. You will need a phillips screwdriver and a needlenose pliers. There is one phillips screw on the side of the bulb to remove and a nut on top that needs to be removed. Pay attention to the 2 wires connected to these points and be sure to put them in the same position when hooking up the new lamp. Once the screw and nut is removed, you will see a spring clip extended from behind the lamp to the front of the lamp container. It clips in the front and the tention holds the lamp in place. Remove the spring clamp and the lamp will come out. Put your new lamp in place, replace the spring clamp as it was (This is the hardest part because of the tention of the spring and getting it back into the cutout **** for the wire spring), then replace the nut and phillips screw and you are ready to plug it back into the TV. Be sure to replace the lamp box properly. Look at the 2 wire connections and align it with the connections inside the TV. Once inserted, tighten the screws on the box, replace the lamp cover and tighten those 2 screws and you are finished. Plug your TV back in and turn on your TV. NEXT...remember to reset your lamp timer when finished. That is done with your on screen menu. Go to System Info and look for "Reset Lamp Timer". Once there, select "YES" to reset the timer to zero.

Projection lamp nearing end of life replace lamp still coming on

Along with the instructions for the lamp installation, you should have revceived instructions on how to reset the lamp counter. If not, this operation is listed in the owner's manual. If you can not locate that manual, please confirm your model number and I will post the instructions. Since the counter has not been reset, the TV will continue to show the "error" message.

DLP bulb replacement

most manufactures consider the lamp to be a consumable product so the will give you instructions in the box with the new lamp..basicaly,,you unplug the set..remove the lamp cover door,,remove the old lamp,,install the new lamp,,replace the lamp cover door, plug in the set...some companies want you to reset the lamp timer and that info is in the owner manual..get an original lamp and not a generic one..call the manufacturer with you model number and they will most likely sell you one and ship it to you
