Problem for LG (GSA-4167B) DVD RW Dual Layer Burner

LG gsa-4167B DVD-ROM crashes system 90% of time when I use it

My DVD Rom crashes my entire system 90% of the time when it tries to read any CD/DVD. Seems to happen when starting to read disc...Also spins very loudly most of the time.
Upgraded to firmware 13 with no luck...

Running Athalon 64 (as Sempron 32) on ASUS K8V-MX motherboard.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

-   Hello, I'm having exactly the same problem. I've also upgraded the driver to Version 13 with no luck.

Would be interested to know if you have found a solution.
