I have this problem with the pavilon ze2000, Looking for ways to fix it, I managed top plug a usb keyboard in however that neither does work, possibly because usb bios support is not enabled? Unsure. But I'm getting a little angry at this myself...

I've been wanting to reformat it and put a real Operating system like UNIx based, etc, but I cant even get this ze2000 to boot at all. As for me, there are two beeps and it shows f2 to setup and f1 to resume. but crashes right there. When I seem to leave it off for a few days and try again itt managed to get to some blinking cursor ( an underscore), but nothing else. There has to be a way to fix this problem, without returning it, as I've already had the thing apart many times, as I have many laptops in the past.

I'm having the same issue. When the laptop powers on I get the HP start up screen and then 2 beeps and screen that says 'Press to resume, o Setup, but nothing works. I've tried at boot up to boot into safe mode. It won't recognize any key press. There seems to be a screen that flashes quickly between the start up screen and the Press screen, but it flashes too fast to read it.

I've tried to boot from CD, it does exaclty the same thing.

    Hi Guys,

I Have the same problem seems to be a problem with the Bios, I remember last time it worked, there was an update from HP waiting for my laptop to reboot, I did it and then my lap died.

Do you know how to fix it, or did you found a way to fix it?

I don't know what HP support can do, but I don't trust them at all.

If you are still in warranty, or even not, HP support is very helpful, moreso than most. If you have no computer access, call:
800-HP invent
800-474-6836 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for most products

HP Pavilion ze2308wm laptop won't boot up

It could be the memory modules (RAM). Get the information from those RAM sticks (manufacturer) and replace them with new ones to see if that solves the issue, if not then maybe the hard drive, and if it's neither of those, I hate to say it, but it sounds like a bad motherboard :(

My V2000 won't boot. It starts to power up, beeps twice stops at the Compact sign in the middle and "press [esc] to change boot order, press [F10] to setup, press [F12] to boot from lan" at the bottom....

probably keyboard connector is loose so, no imput from keyboard is coming in so it halts bootup. please check the connector [opening of a computer is requied probably]

Cant See Post

The 2 beeps are an error code. It can mean a couple of things; 1. Bad or improperly seated RAM; or 2. Bad or improperly seated video card. The F2 option will take you into bios setup. But I would try the video card option first as it is the usual culprit in this situation. Hope this helps & please rate this solution fixya. Thanks.

Laptop will not respond

It sounds to me that you may have an issue with the keyboard itself, as most BIOS will stop on a keyboard error unless told otherwise. But, this could be a malfunctioning keyboard, or a disconnected keyboard. 1 way to test either is to press the caps lock, num lock or scroll lock keys and verifying the corresponding light turns on and off with the button presses. If they do not respond, it's likely the keyboard has become disconnected internally. Other issues may also cause this to happen, but they are harder to test for. If it does respond, then it's more likely to be a keyboard failure, and a replacement of the keyboard may be required.

Hope this helps!
