How do you bypass sensors for craftsman garage door opener

The sensors won't align - one is blinking green and the other is steady amber - the wall pad if held down will close the door, but you cannot just tap it or the remotes won't close it at all. We were hoping to just disconnect the wires to the sensors, but it still won't close all the way unless we hold the wall device until the door is completely shut. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The sensors are safety features so the door won't close on someone. When you hold the wall button down it's over riding the sensors, therefore it works when you hold down the button but will not work when you tap it or use the remote. Line up the photo cells so they stop blinking. If they're blinking they think something is in the way...hence not closing. If you can't get them to line up and stop blinking one may be defective. Contact the manufacturer and see if you can purchase a replacement set. They usually aren't too expensive, maybe $20/$40.

So, are you saying that you think the sensors are defective and they aren't detecting each other? If so, you should probably let craftsman know and ask them for a replacement.

Either your driver for the hard drive has messed up or you need to exchange it for a new hard drive.
Usually just exchanging it causes less headaches and frustration than trying to fix it manually. It could also be that something is physically wrong with the drive, such as the arm inside the hard drive.
Good luck and hopefully that helps!

Help! My drive suddenly "died". The green

The external storage device has several major components:

* USB cable

* external power-supply

* disk-drive inside the enclosure

* USB-to-disk-drive adapter inside the enclosure.

Try a different USB cable.
Try a different USB port on your computer.
Try a USB port on a different computer.

Take a multi-meter, and measure the output voltage/amperage of the power-supply,
and compare with the specifications on the label of the power-supply.

Open the enclosure, and remove the disk-drive, and attach it as a "slave" drive in a desktop computer, to see if bypassing the USB-to-disk-drive adapter bypasses the problem.

Look at the label on the disk-drive, for manufacturer, product-number, serial-number, and manufacture date. Access the manufacturer's web-site, and use "check warranty status" to see if the warranty still is valid. If so, the drive can be replaced, at minimal cost to you.

Buy a new, compatible, disk-drive, and install it in the enclosure, to "revive" your external storage device.

Search online for a professional "data recovery service". For a significant fee, they can repair your disk-drive, just long-enough to copy your files to a new disk-drive.

Maxtor personal storage 3200 - flashing green light.

Solution:
First, disconnect the power cable from the back of the external hard drive:
If the power supply LED continues to blink:
  1. Connect the power supply to a different outlet (or instead of connecting to a power strip, connect directly to an outlet in the wall).

  2. If the power supply continues to blink after changing outlets, this indicates that the power supply is defective and needs to be replaced.

  3. If the power supply stays solid, then reconnect to the external hard drive and see if the drive spins.

Toshiba satellite pro 4200 wont start,just 1 flashing amber light

I had a similar problem on SatPro6100. Mine was LSSSLSSL (10010001).

Thinking that the laptop was buggered I decided I would take it apart and have a look at the insides.

Whilst it was apart I also disconnected the BIOS battery.

Couldn't find anything that looked like it had burnt out so put it all back together again.

When I turned it on again the darn thing was working fine!!!
Go figure!!

The whole thing was apart for about 2 hours or so.
I don't know if it was removing the main battery and leaving it out for that time or whether it was resetting the BIOS (by disconnecting its battery) that fixed the problem.

Anyway, I have managed to get all my data off the laptop so not too worried if it screws up again.

I do however always disconnect the power source BEFORE shutting down the laptop and only reconnect it after I have pressed the on button. Seems to be working fine (for now!)

Hope that helps someone out there!

Maxtor one Touch 300GB no steady green light

Hi,

The USB Isn,t supplying/providing enough Power to the device.
Search e-bay or similar for a 2 into 1 USB Cable.
Then power the unit with 2 USB Ports on the Computer.
2 x USB Into 2 x Sockets On P.C. 1 x Into Device Drive.
This will be enough power to operate the Device Correctly.

I,ve done this on several external Drives, never failed for Me.

Mike @ compurepair.
