Yellow haze and no picture

Recently i discovered the yellow and blue haze but didn't worry too much until the picture would just die out and go straight to a blue screen. Right before the picture goes out the tv starts to static and flashes colors. This started to happen every couple days but now the tv has no picute at all. The picture was lost but the sound was still there. i wanna make sure i can find the right solution before i spend money to get it working again.

Sounds like you have a bad optical block, very costly but the manufacture of these is LG and they have a recall program on certain problems is this model you may want to give them a call and see if yours might be covered.

How do i remove the green haze

one of two issues are possible here:

Model indicated has a convergence circuit= colors are skewed or even 3d looking is convergence problem. Set has Akai name but is made by Samsung--if a convergence issue can be a do it yourself repair.

I can explain what is needed if that is the problem (see some attached photos).

The other issue seen is if on a black and white picture (color turned off) stand back and look at the screen= is it yellow looking or gray?

If yellow looking the Glycol (a cooling fluid in each tube) is contaminated- usually in these sets the blue is first= no real blue leaves a yellow screen.

Look at the photos and try to tell me which issue you have.

I have the Sony KDS- 60A2020 60 inch TV. Recently, my picture has appeared more yellowish. Everyone on it looks like there dark yellowish or have fairly dark (bronze) sun tans. I changed my lamp yesterday...

I have a older 2006 SXRD rear projection TV. I had the same problem after the TV warmed up this yellow tint started in the corner and crawled its way down the TV. It turned out that Sony had a recall on the optic block of the TV. If you replaced the Lamp and adjusted the color this kinda sounds like the same problem. Here is a link explaining it. In this article it shows up as a green haze and blob, but in my TV it manifested as a yellow tint.

Blue haze and dull yellow patches on screen

The light engine in your set has gone belly up. It is a very expensive repair. Good news is that on a whole bunch of models like yours Sony has extended the waranty on the light engine. Check with a local authorized Sony service center and give them the model & serial number and you might get a free ride. If I were a betting man I'd take odds on 'you're in luck'. LOL

I changed the LCD lamp, but there is still a yellow haze.

The yellow haze is the result of the blue polarizer burnt-in, you will find it sitting in front of the dlp chip.

Blue haze spot-yellow tint

I have the same problem with blue haze that just spread out on model 55VS69A ,
tv is almost 2 years old. i called hitachi and they advised to call a local repair center to check the tv...they confirmed Optical Block (light engine ) replacement light engine cost $1400 and labour $400, so i called back hitachi and they said they will provide light engine and will have to pay labour!....this is not right paying out of pocket for a tv less than 2 years old....I am not sure if the issue will resurface again...more likely ....Hitachi is supposed to issue a recall or atleast like sony did to cover all cost for there defective TV's....I will NEVER buy hitach again.

Hitach SUCKS.

Yellow haze

The blue filter is burnt out. A very common problem in Zenith DLPs. There are 3 color filters, 1 blue (a pinkish color), 1 green (a grayish brown) and 1 red (it is red) they give you your colors for you picture. This is a simple fix.

Blue screen

I would look for something real simple here. The problem appears to be in your component cables (I would suspect one being bad or connected to a wrong jack). If they are connected properly, try moving them a bit to see if the blue haze comes and goes or try different cables.
