Connecting a DVD player

I have a Sansui model #TVS2540C/G which does not have the three connections to connect a DVD player. What's the solution?

the tv (Sylvania 6424TF) has two "plugs" - one for audio and one for video. How does one connect this to a DVD player??

There is only a cable outlet in the back of the television. There is no audio/visual adaption to plug into (the white, red, and yellow wires).  How do I connect my television to the DVD player so i don't have to watch the same stupid show on TV anymore.

Try an RF Modulator with the proper inputs for your player. It will let you connect to the antenna jack on tv.

Im trying to connect my coby dvd player to my samsui tv

Hi Maria,
You can hear the sound means your TV and the DVD player are working well. May be the video connecting cord ( yellow connector) between the TV and DVD player has gone bad. Please try replacing it. For testing, you can interchange it with any of the two sound connecting cords which have white and red connectors. I hope it helps.

Sansui HDLCD185W picture but no sound just buzzing

Check the audio out by connecting the TV to an other device, like DVD player or so. If there is audio with DVD player, and no audio with transmission, the audio processing section to your tV is faulty. Seek tech assistance.

Blue picture

Be sure if you are using the 3 wire video (component input) that the green blue and red wires are connected correctly on DVD player and tv. If these are switched around or all three are not connected correctly you will get an off color picture. Do not confuse SINGLE WIRE (yellow composite video) with the 3 wire coponent or progressive scan inputs .

Connecting the dvd player via a scart cable

If you select component in on the tv, this should give you a picture, using the current set up. As for audio, depending on the tv, have you used audio in on the tv, or audio out?
It sound obvious but I (even after 5 years+ of installing tv/vcr/dvd) still get caught out with input and out put.
I am unfamiliar with Sansui dvd, if it has a scart connection on the back then yes you can connect to a spare scart on the tv. If it has the single yellow phono for video and the red/white phonos for sound, you can buy a scart to phono lead and use that, not to confuse with the component(blue/green/purple) connections. You cuold also connect the yellow/red/white phono to the same on the tv front/side or rear if available.

Only dvd plays properly but vhs will not show picture.

Most likely you have the dvd part connected through component or svideo cables. Despite the fact that this is one unit, like other vcr/dvd combo units it acts as two separate units in the same box. The vcr will probably not play through those cables. As you have audio coming through I'd imagine that the audio is connected using red and white composite cable. Connect the video on the vcr side with composite yellow cable or run direct to tv with a coaxial cable.
