Remove coil on back of refrigerator very gently and support the coil against a kitchen chair or counter. On the back of the refrigerator there is an access panel. Remove 4 screws holding the cover. Remove the bottom of the freezer compartment by removing screws and pulling bottom straight out. Remove Styrofoam panel from freezer by cutting tape along side edge. Once the Styrofoam panel is removed you will see fan blades. O n the front of the fan blade there is a spring. Pull the spring off by pulling straight forward with pliers or fingers. Remove the 3 screws holding the fan motor to the refrigerator in the rear access panel. The Motor should now be free. Unplug the plug from the connector by lock latch and pulling straight up. Now you must free the fan blade from the fan motor. Grasp the fan motor and pull straight out. This fan blade is really hard to get off. Try separating the two halves of the blade, where you removed the spring, with a screw driver. The motor is available from Repairclinic.com. Good luck.

The heater/AC makes an obnoxiously loud noise coming from the passenger side around the glove box when turned on. Has been developing for about a week.

Sounds like your blower motor bearing is going bad. Pull glovebox and you can access blower motor. Pull blower motor and check that fan/cage is tight and not clogged with leaves etc... Had an instance when mine made a bunch of noise found parking stub had been sucked into fan,

My hood fan is making a loud noise, due to it has gotten moisture after a snow storm. Can i spray WD-40 onto fan to quiet the noise?

Usually the fan begins to make noise when the bearings in the fan motor become clogged with dirt or just wear out. You must get access directly to the fan housing and spray the bearings directly. This may consist of taking off a couple panels.

Freezer fan noise

Remove the freezer panel to access the fan motor. Look for any obstruction around the fan or blade. Ice, misplaced wire etc.
Check the fan blade. Sometimes they slip down the shaft too far.
If you find none of these issues, replace the fan motor.

it is the fan or the blade hitting something when you open the door it shuts the fan off and on when closed you need to gain access to the fan and see if it is the motor of the blade before you lose any food

Sounds like the fan is hitting some ice build-up. If you can access the area of the fan motor you can try a hair dryer to defrost the ice out of it.

Fan making loud noise like it needs oiled

Most of the fan motors can be oiled. You will have the slide the ac forward and remove it from the case to access it. You will find yellow pull pins on each end of the motor, a lite drop or two is all that is needed.

Noisy fan

We had our house built with the same Nutone fan/light units in all 4 bathrooms. Moved in in 2002. One of the units starting making a loud noise last month. I popped the plasic cover off the light, then carefully pulled out the bulb, then unscrewed the wingnut in the middle. That allowed removal of the light assembly. Then I had access to the blade and motor. I found a lot of dust had collected on the motor and blade. I blew most of it off with compressed air (like what you would use on a computer), then used an electronic cleaner on the motor, then wiped off the blade and motor with a clean cloth.

I then crossed my fingers and turned on the fan.... It worked! It was quiet again. I waited a week before posting this. The fan is used every day. It is still quiet today.

If it ever needs replacing, I saw that Nutone sells the motor alone for about $22, that's a lot better than replacing the whole unit for around $70.
