Question about Maytag MDB9100A Dishwasher
I have a maytag dishwasher model MDB9100AWB and I am experiencing a strange problem. Dishwasher worked perfectly fine until my wife noticed a very slow water leak coming from underneath the machine. I removed the front access cover an noticed a slow leak coming from the bottom of the dishwasher tub. I had a repairman replace the bottom seal. (I usually perfrom my own repairs, however, I read that changing the seal is better left to a "certified repair techician), I DO NOT trust repair shop, because, most seem dishonest. Anyway, after the seal was replaced, the repairman stated that I need a new motor (this diswasher has <2 years of use). The symtoms are the dishwasher will not complete a cycle. When I start a normal cycle, it does fill with water, but does not start the wash cycle (it beeps every 30 seconds). After 3-4 minutes it the normal cycle and clean LED flashs. The drain cycle does work if I press the drain/off button! The fact that the unit does drain, does this mean the pump AND the motor is ok? I am not conviced that the repairman did not do something to my dishwasher during the replacement of the seal, because the unit did work perfectly even when there was a small leak. How can I verify the operation of the motor or pump? Could something be wedged in the perpeller?
