No to warner's locking the modem. 192.168.0.1 is the correct address for accessing the options within the modem. incidentally the Motorola wireless modem works better. Go on line to Netgear technical service and they will guide you through the task of setting up the system.
It depends. Have you checked the Netgear support site for FAQ and the manual. In some routers, orange lights indicate wired 100Mbps connections while green indicates 1000Mbps. In other cases, blinking lights indicated that the router is 'bricked'.
Before diagnosing it to be a hardware failure, I would suggest you to upgrade the firmware on the router. Follow the below steps to upgrade firmware on the router:
A. Open the router page using the following way:
1. Connect a computer to the router using any one of the 4 available ports.
2. Open a web browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari).
3. Access the router, usually by typing 'http://192.168.1.1' or 'http://www.routerlogin.com' in the address bar.
4. Login to the router with the Username as "admin" and Password as "password" (please note that the Username and Password are case sensitive).
B. Visit the following link to download the latest firmware.
C. Please follow the steps to upload the firmware of the router:
1. Open the router page using the steps mentioned above.
2. Under Maintenance, click router Upgrade.
3. Click Browse and locate the upgrade file.
4. Click Upload.
5. Wait for the router to reboot.
6. Click on 'Logout' (at the bottom of the list) from left menu.
7. Reset and reconfigure the router.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

This problem appears most in ZyXEL routers and NETGEAR routers.
On those routers with the original firmware, only ONE computer has internet access at any given time.
So, when your laptop is on you wi-fi, the iPod cannot access the internet.
When the iPod has internet, the laptop cant.
The Netgear wireless router wireless settings need to be configured and the the wireless card in the computer and XBox needs to be configured with the Netgear wireless settings. Follow these steps. : - 1. Connect the wireless router to your computer with a LAN cable. 2. Start your browser and enter the router's configuration URL 3. Enter the router setup login and password 4. Change the admin password 5. Go to the wireless settings and change the default SSID and turn off SSID broadcast. 6. Setup encryption key the strongest is WAP2 7. For further security measures - turn on MAC address filtering and enter the MAC address of the wireless cards on the computer/s you want to connect to this wireless router. 8. Record the settings you have made and keep it in a safe place and Save the settings. 9. Configure the wireless cards on the computer/s with the SSID and encryption settings of the router. 10. Remove the LAN cable between the router and the computer then the computers should be able to connect to the router.
I have just bought a Netgear WGR14 v9 and I was wondering if anyone knows how to set it up with Time Warner. We just swithced from Bellsouth to Time Warner and I don't know how to set it up?
If you already replace the modem and the router so it only means that the problem is with your Time warner internet connection line , did you already contact time warner and let them check your internet line to make sure the signal from them is strong and working fine if not contact them...
