Question about Acer Aspire 5100 Notebook

1 Answer

Black screen After plugging in my iPod to update it, the screen on my computer was covered with lines. I held the power button to turn it off and then restarted it. It logged back in completely normally but once everything was load it would not react to the touchpad or the keyboard. I restarted it again and the same thing happened. then I restarted it again and it did not log in as normal but rather nothing came up on the screen. The power light is on and the fan is going but just nothing is on the screen. I restarted it a couple more times, removed and put back in the battery but it always stays in the same state now.

When I turn on the ipod it says locked and disabled and connect to itunes! what do I do to unlock and reconnect??

Plug the iPod touch into the computer with the USB Dock connector. Once it is connected to the computer turn off the iPod touch by holding the power button down on the top of the device until you see the "Slide to Power Off" on the screen. Power Off the Device. Once the device is off (and still plugged in) hold down the home button and keep holding it while pressing the power button to turn on the device. Continue holding the home button until you see the screen on the iPod Touch Say "Connect to iTunes" at which point you should launch iTunes on your PC/Mac if it has not already loaded.

After charging, ipod now just showing a white screen. Can't turn it off or any other function, it just fades to black. Please help!

Welcome to Fixya

This problem is called the white screen of death. To solve this, you should press the Home button and the Power button together for about 30 - 40 seconds. This process is called hard reboot. You can also try to restore the factory settings by plugging the device to you computer and restore it using itunes.

How to unlock my ipode

RESTORING IPOD TOUCH:
Try plugging it into your computer. Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons
at the same time until the screen goes black (can take longer than 10 seconds) then
let go of the sleep button (the button on the top of the unit) while keeping the
home button held in (the button on the front of the iPod). Keep the home button
held in until your computer recognizes new hardware. You should hear some sort of
sound coming from your computer speakers. That and the "installing new hardware"
notice should come up in your taskbar (this is where you computer shows the clock).
Let go of the home button once this happens. Open up iTunes and then restore it.
Keep in mind, that by restoring it, you will lose all data!!!!!

Why wont my ipod touch turn on i turned it off and it wont come o

Hold the power button and home button for 10 seconds to ensure the device is off. Let go.

Hold the home button down, plug in the ipod to the computer, after the screen changes to the itunes plug screen, let go of the home button.

The ipod will now be in recovery mode, and you can attempt to perform a restore within itunes.

If the restore fails, and the ipod screen stays black, this means the battery is dead and must be replaced.
