Question about Sewing Machines

SINGER IZEK MODEL 1500

I have a Singer Izek. It stops after running for a couple seconds. I unplugged the foot control and tried just using the stop/go button and still got the same results. When I use the Gameboy and this happens, it activates the safety device and shows a flashing [!] icon where the motor is located, but tells me no more. The manual is also not helpful. I've had the covers off and looked at the circuit board and everything is clean (wires, connectors, solder). Not sure what else to do besides give up and look for a repair shop. It's not the foot control because this machine has a start/stop button so it doesn't require the foot control. Problem happens using the start button too. It's not the game boy, because the machine can still be used without the game boy and problem still occurs. Any suggestions?

I oiled and ran my machine for a while. I also pulled out an oil wick, which was underneath the bobbin case. I'm sure that was needed for something, but I think it was interfering with the bobbin case. It's working now.

I just got a Singer Izek. The needle won't pick up the bobbin thread. The bobbin case seems to be loose. Is there supposed to be another metal piece that holds in the black plastic bobbin case? There is a picture in the manual Showing you how to insert the bobbin, and their set up looks different from mine. It's used, so no idea of it's past life. Also, the auto needle threader can't seem to hit the eye of the needle to pull the thread through. Help!

The Izek has a motor over current protection circuit which measures the currend draw at the main motor. If the main motor is trying to run and it draws more current than it should the machine will stop sewing. In sew speak terms the machine is too stiff to turn easily. There are 2 different solutions. Completely lubricate the machine anywhere metal is on metal use oil (sewing machine) and metal on plastic or platic on plastic use white lithium grease. Try the machine now!
Next if that did not fix it make sure there is no lint, thread or the like wrapped around andy parts of the machine. Good luck

I have a IZEK singer sewing machine, I wound 3 bobbins with it and when I went back to sew it would not work

Sandy, I'm not familiar with IZEK machines, but it sounds like the bobbin winder has not correctly disengaged. Put it back into bobbin winding mode and run it (no need to wind a bobbin, just check that the bobbin winder turns), then stop and disengage the bobbin winder and try sewing again. Hope this solves it for you. If it won't turn the bobbin winder either then it may have slipped or broken the drive belt and you will need to take it to your local sewing centre.

My Singer Izek has stopped picking up the bobbin. It seems that what ever mechanisim that usually grabs the bobbin is not grabbing.

Try a new needle, sometimes the needle gets bent and will not pick up the thread. I hope that is it because, if not, you probably need a technician to set the timing. Good luck

Singer izek game

Blank gameboy cartridges and backup systems can be purchased at specialty shops online (look to the gameboy music community> link). Once attained, such kit would allow the writing of the Singer sewing game ROM image onto the cart. This would work exactly like the original cartridge. The blank carts should cost around 40 dollars each. The ROM file can be found at the IZEK Yahoo Group or any gameboy ROM archive online.
I was thinking of providing this as a service. But, I've found that most online cart retailers will actually write a ROM to the cart for you for free. So, 40 bones should get you a replacement cart! It used to be near impossible.

Izek Speed Control

Have you tried removing the batteries and cartridge and re-intalling? Also I learned the pressure foot must be down for my izek to accept setting changes. Hope this helps.
