Question about Toshiba 65HM167 65" Projection Television
The boot data is corrupted. Download the firmware update from Toshiba and unzip the files and folders, copy the unzipped files & folders to a SD card (like a camera uses). Unplug the tv and insert the card into the slot hidden behind the cover above the HDMI inputs. Plug in the tv and watch the yellow blinking stop and a solid blue will light when done. Unplug the tv, remove the card, plug in the tv and all will be good. You could now install the update per it's instructions.

SOURCE: Lamp Light Red - No Screen Image
It could be the a problem with the lamp ballist circuit, or just a bad lamp socket, or simply a bad lamp. The only way to tell is to call out a servicer as that would be alot less expensive then to get a new lamp and then that not be the problem. These problems can be a little hair pulling at times, thats why i have no hair left!! LOL Good Luck

This can either be a problem with the ballast, or the power supply that powers the ballast. DLPs are usually easy to diagnose as they have a list of items that must happen for a successful boot sequence and it will pinpoint exactly where you trouble is at. I do suggest that you get a service manual for your set. I can post a link where you can get a proper service manual where they will email it to you if you would like. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Check the fan that cools the bulb. It is directly behing the bulb. It should turn on when the power comes on. It apparently has a safety to protect your tv(and home). mine is in the process of going out. looking for online solutions as we speak.
