Hamilton beach 4200 water dispenser

Does anyone know how to disassemble this dispenser for servicing? I have removed all the screws but I can't open the unit to clean the inside and check what's making a loud whining noise when I turn on the cold water switch. Thanks.

- I have to post this under "Blender" since no category for dispenser exists. Please redirect to the appropriate post if you can. Thanks.

- I managed to disassemble the unit after unscrewing the clamping attachment for the unit's cable. After cleaning the dust off the two fans, the unit makes less noise but does not behave like it used to be.

I found 90mm fans advertised at this site. Is this what you are referring to? Can an amateur fix this?

-   Had an overheating problem...
Hard time opening the case too, but with only the 5 screws that connect the two case halves (underneath) and the cord clamp screws off, with some (prying) pressure, the two lower halves popped apart. The cases halves and the top all have about a million snap locks holding them together.. I found one of the thermostats loose in its mounting, so i hope that is it... all of the rest of the screws in the bottom are to mount the hot and cold water tanks.-   rocinbaja

-   Water stoped coming out cold. When I felt the outside of the dispenser it was definitely warm. Didn't seem that the usual sound of the cooling unit had been heard in awhile. I've been trying to take it apart but can't seem to get inside.-   Guest

-   Mine did the same thing and now has a foul taste in the water...I've tried everything, cleaning, new water, I am thinking about taking it back. I love these things and even bought two for the office. I hope this isn't a trend.-   jyoeseh

i have had this unit for 2 years and the first thing that will go out is the cooling fans, they either stop altogether or start making a loud noise. i suggest to anyone else who has this to go to a computer store and buy 2 quality 90mm fans, they will screw and connect right into the unit. mine initally died about 4 months into use and after replacing them with good fans i never had a problem with it. mine however is a dust magnet and if i dont remove the fans and clean off the heatsinks about every 3 months, the water wont get very cold. mine now is starting to leak water, a big loss since we use this thing all the time.
