Question about Washing Machines
I need to check the Door Lock Wax Motor, Spin Enable Switch, etc. as the washer will only spin intermittently. The Machine Control Board shows no sigh of damage or overheating so before I start shotgunning parts I would like to dig a little deeper. Question is: how does the top of the washer come off? This machine is constructed differently than other machines I've worked on. Does it pry up from the front, are there fasteners to remove inside, etc? I tried prying it from front but was afraid I'd damage it. Thanks
Remove the two screws on the door hinges and then remove the door from the slot that it is mounted to (sometimes this takes a little coaxing). Remove the two screws opposite the door hinges. Once this is done, the front panel comes off. Next, remove the four screws inside the dispenser on top of the washer. Now, locate the two bolts holding the top panel retainer clips in place. There will be one on each corner of the top panel in the front of the washer. Once the two bolts are removed, the retainer clips can be removed and the top lifts up. I hope this helps you. Please post back if you have any further comments/questions.

Before takin the front off. does the door lock light come on??it been my experience that so long as door lock light comes on, and actually locks then that circuit should be good.intermitten high speed soin sounds like could have a clogged pump assy, blockage in drain of over soaping issue(you should be using HE detergent). Lift the top by first removing the door assy, as well as 2 other screws oppisite door hinge. front face now lifts off. 2 5/16 screws close to top oneither side will then remove the hold down clips. bet before you lift up on the top remove the 4 phillips screws nside the dispensor door. that will give you acess to your wzx motor and lid lock switches. while open though open the pump hoses below and to the rightcheck for a missing sock, or some change that has fallen in there preventing free flow, also inspect the motor control board in the front rt corner(that board als controls spin speed. good luck!

Hello i'm having some problems with my maytag neptune model#fav6800. A man my aunty knows came and tried to fix it. He said he has been fixing machines for 20 years. Well my machine was making a strange noise like something was loose. The man checked the pump and there where 3 quarters. We took them out and the noise stopped, but now I put a load to wash and it displays 58 min. but it takes alot longer. It pauses during each cycle
