Dishwasher won't turn on

The dish washer won't start and there doesn't seem to be any power because none of the lights come on. I have checked the fuse and its fine. We have the power switch under the sink and it is in the ON position. I have tried holding the start button for 5 seconds to reset and no luck. Hope someone can help

Thanks for the response. Our dishwasher is hardwired to the circuit. There isn't a plug, that is the purpose of the switch I mentioned. Please keep the ideas coming.

Check socket in wall with another appliance.it could be the wall socket.also try a fuse that you know is working like one from your kettle.

Thermal Fuse If the dishwasher won't start the thermal fuse might have blown. The thermal fuse helps to prevent damage to the dishwasher by turning off power so that it doesn't overheat. Once blown, the thermal fuse will have to be replaced for the dishwasher to work.

Door Switch The door switch, or switches, are sometimes called interlock switches. The door switch prevents the dishwasher from running while the door is open. If the dishwasher won't start, the switch or switches might be defective. To access the door switches, remove the control panel or inside door panel - depending on the model. They can be tested for continuity.

Main Control Board The main control board provides power to nearly every component of the dishwasher. If the dishwasher won't start the main control board might be defective. YOU should first check for more common parts. Many times control boards are replaced unnecessarily because the problem was not diagnosed properly.

Touchpad and Control Panel If the touchpad is defective, the control board might not get the signal for the selections made. If the dishwasher won't start and the display doesn't seem to change properly when the buttons are pressed, the touchpad might need to be replaced. On some models the touchpad and control panel are sold together and will need to be replaced at the same time.

Touchpad If the touchpad is defective, the control board might not get the signal for the selections made. If the dishwasher won't start and the display doesn't seem to change properly when the buttons are pressed, the touchpad might need to be replaced.

Timer The timer allows power to flow to the proper parts at the proper times. If the dishwasher won't start, the timer might be defective. Keep in mind that timers are often misdiagnosed as the cause of a problem. Check other components first before replacing the timer.

My dishwasher doesn't start. When I press start button the light turns down and every appliances turn off. kindly advice if it is related to electrical system or not

If the main circuit TRIPS off the moment the dish washer is started , then it is possible that there is a heavy short within the washer.
To find out the reason you will need to discconnect the power to the washer, the disconnect the power to the controller unit, the motor and the inlet vavle. Using a multimeter you can checck for short in the circuit. If so isolate the circuit.
Now reconnect and see if the power trips, is so isolate one by one the circuit till you come to the failed component. It can be the power controller, valve, motor, capacitor or surge protector.

II might need the actual model number. However, you can go to page 9 on this manual and check if the flashing options can fix the problem. I am assuming you have already tried to turn the power off and back on.

The ohter thing to try is the reset sequence. Within 6-7 secs press High Temp/ Heat Dry/ High Temp/ Heat Dry/ High Temp/ Heat Dry. All lights should light up, press Start button to exit.

Hi

If you are noticing that the dishes are not clean, then there are a few things to check for. Check the soap powder if it's kept in a dry environment. Also try replacing the powder with something like a gel or liquid. Next thing to check for is the water pressure and fill valve. Check if the water is filling in and the spray arms are throwing the water with enough pressure. Try and listen to the sound if you hear a proper spraying action sound.

If it seems as a low water pressure then check the fill valve. Now, check if dishwasher is draining the water or not. While the dishwasher is working check whether the dishwasher is draining and there is not much left out water after the cycle is complete. Try cleaning the spray arm with a soft brush. The water temperature plays a major role in cleaning of dishes. The temp should be between 125 and 150 F for dishwasher to clean the dishes. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more informatiion.

POWER ON-PROGRAM WONT WORK

1. No power to the dishwasherMake sure there's power getting to the dishwasher. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power. Sometimes the power cord disconnects at the dishwasher (inside the junction box, behind the bottom kick panel), if this is the case, the wiring must be repaired or replaced.

2. Door switch
Replace if defective.

3. Timer
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).

4. Selector switch
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).

Have a trouble: dish-washer will not drain.

I just moved into a new house and builder had provided a dish washer drain just below my kitchen drain line.

DIsh washer install was done by me, every thing worked out OK except dish washer would not drain after a wash cycle.

Cause: drain provided by builder was blocked and needed a circular small cut before mounting drain hose over it.
