The low humming sound is the motor that opens and closes the drawer. It is moving, but the movement is not being transferred to the door by a pulley, a belt or a gear, When you open the drawer completely, it should stop. When the drawer is closed completely it continues to run until the disc is in the proper position to play. As long as that motor is running the DVD will not work because the disc is not in the proper position,
Can you see anything on the screen in a bright light? A ghost image? Fan spins? Sounds? Only a black screen? Has there been ANY damage? Drop? Bump? Jar? It could be the Monitor, Inverter, backlighting, lose connection in the rear of the monitor, the switch the controls the lighting of the monitor when you open and close the lid? Hard to be sure without troubleshooting. Here's a video to give you some tips: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Yi6GNFcP3w
The problem is cause due to one of the following: the backlight or the display, check your monitor brightness settings. Sometimes your brightness may accidentally have been all the way turned down, resulting in a blank/dark screen. The monitor controls are on the keyboard, directly above the numeric keys. Look closely at your laptop's screen if the steps do not restore power to it and if it remains blank. Can you see a faint image on the screen? If so, the backlight may be off due to the LCD "lid close" detector malfunctioning. This malfunction likely happened due to the lid close switch being stuck in the "closed" position even though the lid is open. The switch is located beside the LCD's screen hinges, and tapping the switch a few times should unstick it. Use an S-Video cable and plug your laptop up to an external monitor, such as your television set. With the laptop and TV hooked up, turn both on and see if your computer's desktop is displayed on the TV. You can also use a fifteen ( 15 )pin monitor desktop monitor by connecting it to the blue fifteen ( 15 ) connector at the side of the laptop if you cannot see anything on screen it is the display problem. If it is, your laptop's display needs to be replaced. If not, your motherboard and/or video subsystem may need to be completely removed and replaced.
Take the DVD player aparts, take out DVD disc out of the drawer, check the open/close drawer button again.Same result indication on the screen say is open infact it close. The motor the help open and the dvd drawer it dead.Need the motor replaced.
No.. If this is a video adapter issue, you'll still be having a blank screen and not 'check cable' signal. This might be some internal issue with your monitor. You don't you try connecting it to your laptop (if you have) or your friends' comp. And open the CPU cover and see if the graphics card is proper by giving it a through look. Look if the graphics card fan spins. If it doesn't have a fan, switch off the pc. open the cover remove the gcard from its port carefully and then inspect if for any burnout of loose parts.
If your gcard is fine, i suggest you give your monitor for service..
