if it is in repair mode, with power off, i will still be able to remove dvd?

  • Steviebrower Mar 01, 2008

Thanks for quick response. I will try when i go home. Since you seem to know all, why sometimes does it say recording error. record several programs from TiVo, and then try to record or finalize, and it gives error?

It's not the type of disk, 'cause in general the ones i use work, only 2 out of 50 do this. I watch way to much TiVo.?

    :)

I don't see any opening hole to retrive the CD inside the best option we can do is to open the the cover chasis and pull out the cd on the tray.

Thanks,

Yup!, you need the unit must be power of, before taking out everything, just to be sure were not making any electrcal contact / damage on the system. When you remove the cover chasis, you will see the tray where the CD is stuck there's a plate or a lock on top of that tray, this plate is the guide of the the CD to spin on the tray, when you remove it, the CD/disc will be the next of it to remove.

    Let me know.

P.S Just be careful & be gentle when you open, just to be sure we never "deflect" other parts.

How do I transfer recordings from my tivo box to a recordable Blu-Ray DVD

if it's not encrypted take out the hard drive and put it in your computer. Use the computer to burn the dvd's then put the hard drive back in the TiVo. That's how I do it anyway.

Display says it is stuck on dvd 2 cannot program the dvd recorder to record

Hi,
DVD recorder stuck on DVD 2 mode that means you can no longer operate it with its remote, right?
Now you need to change remote mode to DVD 2 so recorder can receive its signals.
Slide down lower cover of remote and set Command Mode switch to DVD 2 position, now your recorder will get remote signals and you can operate it properly.
Thanks.

Are you talking about recording from the list? You might have to set the recorder to record chanel 3. I can't check it because my dvd recorder is broken. I haven't done it in a while, I remember going to list and telling tivo to record to vcr and recording chanel 3, but you can't watch tv till it's finished. If you are talking about a connection try an a/b switch. All I can say is experiment

Some DVD players can't read -R & -RW disks. When you finalize make sure it is in Video mode not VR mode so the recorded disk will be able to work in most other DVD players. Also some DVD players only read recorded disks rated up to 1x, 4x, 8x, 16x, or a combination of these speeds.
