Not working internet what to do - D-Link DIR-600 Router

I just got satellite internet service a few months ago and it has been going OK until there was a thunderstorm last night and more rain today. The internet has not been working very well, coming in and out in spurts. I got my dish from Calera at http://www.calera.biz. Does anyone know how to fix their dishes specifically and figure out how to make the internet work better? Spray TEFLON coating on dish

Well of course the internet is not working if the laptop is locked. In fact, if the laptop is locked nothing is working, right?

So, why is the laptop locked? When you turn it on, what is it doing and what is it asking you to do?

And what is this Internet Security you mention??

The only Internet Security I know of is a Virus or Infection that calls itself Internet Security.

Don't get me wrong, Internet Security is vital, but it is process and not a product per say. There are things that end with Internet Security such as Norton Internet Security, McAfee Internet Security, Kapersky Internet Security, etc. The only product that calls itself "Internet Security" is a virus known as the Internet Security virus.

Is that what is popping up on your screen and blocking you from doing anything?

If internet works but DNS is down, this is an internet service provider issue. 100%

1. Go on start menu and find "control panel"

2. Once you've clicked on "control panel" click on "network and internet"

3. Click on "Internet options"

4. Click on the "connections" heading

5. Click "set up" and connect it up to your internet. Make sure internet explorer is also set as your default browser. How to set it as default browser - Open internet explorer (with connection or without)click on Tools> Internet Options. Click on the Program tab, then click on the Make Default button.

If that doesn't work -

1. Go on start menu and find "control panel"

2. Once you've clicked on "control panel" click on "network and internet"

3. Click on "internet options then the "programs" heading

4. Click on "make default"

If that doesn't work check on network and sharing centre on your control panel and make sure your 100% connected to the internet.

If you are and my connecting up to the internet didn't work try contacting your internet provider.

Within Internet Explorer, click FILE, and WORK ONLINE.

Normally the easiest thing to do with internet explorer is to install it again.

Try to first install it over the old Internet explorer and see if it works.

If not:
try to uninstall it first, then restart the computer and then reinstall the software (IE8). For this action I advice you to have another browser in case internet explorer should not work, at least to have Firefox portable.

Note: you can chance the default language to your language in the upper right corner.

If this not work, please chek your firewall that is not blocating your Internet explorer 8 and your antivirus has not quarantine some files of your internet explorer 8

You can also try to chek your Internet Explorer 8 in default settings without any software apply: got to Start- All programs- accessories- sistem......- Internet Explorer (without accessories).
If this browser works, that means that it is something wrong with your extra programs you have installed on Internet explorer 8

Well you can open internet explorer and check if your internet explorer is working offline... connect your internet explorer to the internet...go to File, uncheck work offline... this worked for me....

Do you get an error message which asks you send or dont send? if yes, delete all the temporary files by clicking on tools menu -> internet options -> general tab -> click delete button -> click delete all.
If there is no message before internet restarts, then uninstall internet explorer 7 from 'add/remove programs and try in ie6. if that does not work then remove ie6 from 'add/remove windows components' and restart computer then check internet explorer in 'add/remove windows components' and restart again. It should work.

Track ID should work if your internet works so check your internet works first then try it, If your internet doesn't work I have to use my PC internet because my phone internet runs off it, it's so confusing. Hope this helped tho.
