Printer states that parts need sevicing, this is expensive and last time I purchased another printer from Epsom, I understand there is a programme that will reset the counters, does anyone know what this is and how to use it.

The C48 firmware counts the number f dribbles sent to a waste ink area somewhere in the printer. The printer dribbles every time it’s powered up and when the heads are cleaned. When the counter reaches 8300 the printer stops working.
A utility at http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml will reset the ink counter to zero. Cycle the printer power that’s it! easy peasy. Take care though.. the ink thingy might overflow onto the carpet one day…..
NB. I don’t think that this utility runs under Vista.

Hello.

I'm trying to determine which light you are referring to. Are you referring to the front WiFi light, which blinks orange or steady green ?

If not WiFi, please be more specific as to which light.

Hope this helps.

What does it mean when you get a green and red flashing light?

Assuming you mean the error light is flashing red/green, that indicates that the print head is too cold. The only way to clear this problem is to let it warm up, then remove power for about 10 seconds (there is no way to reset the printer with power applied). This is to prevent the print head from damaging itself from extreme temperature changes. For example, if the printer was sitting in a car over a very cold night and you tried to use it first thing, the print head would go from freezing to scorching so fast, it could potentially shatter the print head. Granted, that is the worst case cenario, but it is still possible none the less. The printer checks the print head temp on start up only. This is why you need to cycle power.

My Epson is printing pages in code and will not stop and the green light is blinking and the red is staying on. We put in new ink cartridges today.

zark4, The green light flashing means you have print jobs waiting to be printed. Don't Turn Off The Printer When The Green Light Is Flashing ! If you have paper in the printer, the red light means you have an empty ink cartridge. Because both things are happening at the same time, here's what you need to do. First click start. Click printers and faxes. Double left click the Epson C-60 Icon. Left click Printer and click Cancel all documents and click yes, then exit. Remove and reinsert your new ink cartridges to make sure they are seated correctly. After you have done this and the printer finishes the automatic charging of the ink cartridges, the lights should be back to normal. Green light on.

Flasing red light

The flashing red indicates that either the fileter cover or the lamp cover is not installed correctly. If both are installed properly and secured, the unit will require service.
