Question about Dyson DC14 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum
Ensure drive selector knob is not stuck on park or stop when you lower handle to vacuum if it is pull handle back & turn knob by hand to drive position.
If you have done all this & still have no brush rotation then one of the clutch belts have snapped.
The clutch has 2 belts one you can see going around the brush & the other you cant see which goes clutch to motor.
To replace remove clutch unit then replace both belts is not easy to explain so go to this site http://dysonmanuals.llc.nu/
It has dyson service manuals covering lots of repairs you can do at home.

SOURCE: belt not turning
It could well be the dog hair. You'll need to remove the roller brush and completely clean it off with the hair which sounds like it has wrapped itself around the brush and the brush end washers. Check that the entire roller brush is completely clear and if any dirt is found at the sides, remove it.
