Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
ok, basically whenever I start to play a game, dozens & dozens of lines of black dots appear on the screen after a few seconds of playing (although sometimes they're there from the word "go").
They don't appear when I'm on the 360 "Desktop" at any point. Nor do they rear the ugly heads when I'm downloading stuff via the "Marketplace". It's purely when I'm playing an actual game and it's grinding my last nerve.
Well i had the same problem today and i was about to do the towel trick but decided totry using a hand vacume and sucking out any dust in the holes and it did work actually, the lines appeared for a couple minutes and i thought oh no! but then after maybe ten minutes they dissappeared for the rest of the night,

Ok what I'm about to say may shock you but... your Xbox has the case of the E74. Basic ly if your Xbox is one of the first ones to ever come out then you would have the case of E74. I know. My Xbox did the same thing And I've had it for 5 years until Oct. So either you dump it and get a new one or you call microsoft and they can help you( Don't call the toll free it's always ja med!) Now Don't go and fix it your self the warranty states now for any Xbox 360 with the E74 from the day they came out has warranty on it. If not your some what of going and get a new one. NOTE: Your Memorie (Hard Drive) Is not infected it still works it's just the console that doesn't work. If you want to you can take out the DVD ROM drive out and sell it on Ebay if you really want to...

I haven't had this happen to my console, but so far I seem to be pretty lucky. I did find this person who had the same problem as you: http://www.fixya.com/support/t269963-xbox_360_no_video_sound_after_playing
There was also some discussion of it on an XBOX forum that suggested checking the cables and if no change to do the towel trick. Sounds like more of the same issues everybody is reporting with over heating, red circles, and overall breakdown of the hardware. Hopefully M'soft will get the hint and change it up in the future.

This happened to me. Eventually you will get the E74 error message with 1 flashing red light. You then need to send your xbox off.
