My freezer teperature is fine, well below zero as I have the temperature control to maximum, but the fridge temp is at about 55-60 degrees. I started by cleaning the coils, which were filthy, but no difference after a couple of days. The refrigerator seal seems to be in fine shape with no leaks (about 4 years old), and even when taping the door tightly shut overnight there is no difference. The compressor seems to be running continuously.
I am not well-versed in refrigerator operation, but there may be a fan behind the vent holes in the back of the freezer, perhaps designed to flow air into the fridge, that may have quit. I am not positive. Even if that is true, the parts list names two fan motors, and I do not know which is which (the one at the bottom of the fridge next to the compressor is still operating fine.
There are also two holes in the top of the fridge compartment that I assume should have air flowing through them but there is not. Though I can feel some ice inside the holes when checking it out, I would not say they are completely clogged. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Fridge not getting cold. I checked it a few days ago and everythig was fine. Today everything is warm.
It is a Kenmore Coldspot Refrigerator Model # is 106.70187000
I have raised the setting to its highes setting but stiil nothing. I also looked at the 2 square hole in the top of the frigde. They seem to be clogged with ice. IS this a problem?
May need defrosting, so do that, and also unplug the unit for 9 minutes, as this should reset anything that might have affected the problem. Check with Kenmore customer service department on how long the unit takes to get to a set temperature after resetting and consult your manual on your warranty options.

turn freezer to mid point and try fridge on 3.5 as a starting point.
Keep the refrigerator temperature at or below 40° F (4° C). Thefreezer temperature should be 0° F (-18° C). Check temperatures periodically. Appliance thermometers are the best way of knowing these temperatures and are generally inexpensive.

check the fan that runs between the freezer and the fridge --check fan for ice blockage -debris-or damage / clean or clear blockage --if not running test wiring and connections as well as motor /repair or replace //also check fan damper is not frozen or blocked its flap that opens and closes for air to flow //----ur fridge side is cooled from the the freezer side the cold air is blown in from the freezer if fan or damper is not working correctly than fridge is usually warm and freezer is working properly
Hello, This problem is going to be the cold control/thermostat, this part can be located in the control console inside the fridge bhind the freezer temp control knob (can also be found sometimes in the freezer depending on type/model) The reason your food in the fridge is freezing is because the thermostat controling the freezer temp is not shutting down and the air being blown into the fridge is too cold. Replace this cold control/thermostat and you should be fixed. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again and give me some time to respond. Good luck! Mike
You have already dianosed the problem. Now take that cover off in the freezer and see if you can get that fan to work, it is your problem and you can replace it IF it is bad or lube it's bushings and see if it will work a few more years. (use 3 in 1 oil) Gook luck!
1.If this is only a fridge the one knob will be for the min and the other for the max. max. : As soon as you switch the fridge on it will cool down the fridge to max cool down temp. example -2deg. min. : As soon as the fridge reaches the max cool down temp and it had switch the compressor off, the fridge will start to warm up slowly, by the time it reaches the min allowed warming up temp, it will switch the compressor back on and do the cycle all over again. 2. If it is a fridge/freezer setup, the one knob will be for the fidge and the other for the freezer. If the temp in the freezer is fine a fan is activated and blows all the cool air to the fridge and controls the temp. by activating the fan.
sounds like your auto defrost isn't working. my maytag does same thing. the cooling core in the freezer is probably iced up. when it becomes solid ice no air(or very little) can pass by, leading to too little cold air reaching the fridge. you can try to cycle the temp levers(usually doesn't work) you can manually defrost the freezer. pull the cover off the back(inside freezer) and use a blow dryer. not sure how much parts are for whirlpool. hopefully this is just a one time thing. there are tests you can find to check some of the parts.like the heat element for the defroster, just search for the tests.
please switch off your refrigerator for at least 8 hrs. than again switch it on. if your problem is not cured than it is sure that your refrigerator have the blower problem because for this reason only, the problem arrises ....... please visit your service authority...........have a nice day:-)
Sorry, not doable. Temp in garage below 50 degrees will cause problems with any domestic fridge or freezer. The soda machines you see outside actually have heaters in them so they can work in the winter. Hope this helps!
any time the compressor is running the fan in the freezer should be running now you need to empty the freezer do you see a lot of frost on the back wall of the freezer you either have a defrost problem and frost has built up so much its stalling the fan or the fan its self is bad pull the back cover off the freezer wall and tell me what you see please also give me your model number off the serial plate which should be in the fridge section put your freezer stuff in the fridge while we check it out
