The model RS2530 was a Best Buy model and possibly has only one evaporator in the freezer compartment. Sounds like you are having a couple problems. The dual water control valve is leaking for the ice maker and causing the water to freeze in the fill tube for the ice maker. A mess I know! As for the too cold problem I believe that is related to a thermistor located insid the fresh food compartment that is defective or a auto damper sticking open and allowing cold air to flow without control into the fresh food section. i'm sending you a service manual that covers the next model up than the model you say you have. I would like you to tell me as you look through the manual any diffences you notice and there will be because Best Buy made the RS2530 a basic model. It is possible the problem will be the auto damper if your is this mosel. Click here=> RS2531 I will need you to work with me on this one to resolve these problems. In manual on page 9 of the PDF the air damer and thermistor may just be the problem with over cooling. The water control valve also will need replaced part number Click Here=> DA74-40149D to stop the ice from freezing in the ice maker fill tube.

The cold control needs replacing. Thats the knob with the numbers that turn the Ref OFF and ON.
What I do is call my local Appliance Parts Store with my model no. They are extremely helpful .
Get freezer and ref thermometer. Ref is probably too cold.
Freezer should be 0 to 10 degrees. Ref 33 to 35

WATER SPLASHING IN FREEZER AT ICEMAKER
THE FILL TUBE IN BACK OF REFRIGERATOR CAN SLIP
AGAINST THE FILL RESERVOIR CAUSING A PARTIAL BLOCKAGE
OR BECOME CLOGGED WITH ICE.
REMOVE THE ICEMAKER AND INSPECT THE FILL TUBE.
RUN WATER IN TUBE TO ELININATE BLOCKAGE AND CHECK
TEMP IN FREEZER. IF TEMP IS BELOW 0 DEGREES, THATS
OVERKILL AND USUALLY A WASTE OF ELECTRICITY TO KEEP IT THAT COLD, NOT TO MENTION THE FILL TUBE FREEZING UP

Ice maker quit, water still dispenses

even though you still have water dispensing you may have a frozen line to the ice-maker, take out your ice-maker and check to see if the feeder tube has ice in it, take a drinking straw and insert it into the feeder tube for the ice-maker and see if you can push it all the way to the valve, it's lite enough not to damage the feeder and strong enough to break up whatever Ice might be blocking the tube

Bad defrost timer/ thermostat???

It definitely sounds like you have a bad defrost timer, that is the reason the coils are icing up on you. The next issue, which may or may not be related is the freezing of items in the refrigerator. Usually the cold air is transferred, through a vent with a damper, from the freezer and into the refrigerated section. The "thermostat" for this section is actually usually just a lever to adjust the position of the damper. That being said, usually when you have a problem such as you are having, it is either a stuck or broken damper (or damper component). Hope this helps
