How to install driver "canon ip 1100" - Canon PIXMA MP160 All-In-One InkJet Printer

If you have the disk which came with the printer, just install it into the drive and it will autoplay.

However, if you no longer have the disk, download the MP160 MP Driver Ver. 1.11 for Windows 7, Vista, XP and 2000 (32 bit only), mp160win111ea23.exe, for the Pixma MP160 All-In-One InkJet Printer.

The driver is a set of "directions" which gives the hardware (in this case your printer) directions on what to do and when.
You can do it one of three ways.

1. Plug the printer into your computer and when new hardware is recognized by your computer, depending on the operating system, it will install the drivers stored in a Windows folder currently on your computer.
2. Plug the printer into your computer and when new hardware is recognized by your computer it will prompt you with a new window to install the drivers and then either direct the computer to find the drivers on your computer (if you have them in a file from a download) or on the Install CD and proceed to install them.
3. Insert install CD in the CD/DVD ROM and if it doesn't open on its own, click on MY COMPUTER then CD/DVD Drive (probably D or E drive) and click on install.
4. Reboot computer and all should be fine
