PSP uses mp3 file format. ***FREE SOFTWARE You need this software http://www.nch.com.au/switch/ Download and install it. Then open it and click "Add Files" choose the song from your cmoputer thay you want to put in your psps. Select the ouput folder(where your converted song should go). Just change it to your desktop. Select the Out Put format to mp3 Press the convert button When it has finished converting the files, Connect your psp to your computer
***YOUR PSP DRIVE LETTER On your computer, Go to Start---->My Computer then look for your psp. The C: and D: drives are usually for your cmoputer Harddrive and your CDROM. So none of them is your psp unless you dont have a CDRom then D: is your PSP. If you have CD ROM on your pc, then G: or E: will be your PSP Drive. Open it.
**COPYING CONVERTED SONG Copy the converted song(.mp3) from your desktop to the folder called MUSIC on your psp . If the folder "MUSIC" does not exist, create it then copy your converted song there.
NOTE** The easiest way to find your psp Drive Letter is to first open "My Computer" then plug the PSP in and you'll notice that a new DRIVE LETTER has appeared. That Drive is your psp.
well all you need to do is connect your psp to the computer and put the music int your music folder. NOTE: the psp can only read from one folder in so you can't put a music folder into a music folder and then put it into the psp music folder. ex: psp > music > u2 > vertigo > Song = can't read; psp > music > u2 > song = can read.
You can not just make a folder and think it will work. That is not how the psp finds songs. The psp only looks in one place every time for music. Go into the psp memory stick and open the PSP folder and then there should be a MUSIC folder. That is where you put the music.
To be able to put a song on your psp, you need to connect it to your computer first. Once your computer detects the psp and you're able to use it as storage device, go to your 'My Computer' then open the drive that points to your psp. Usually, it indicates 'Storage Device'. Inside, you will find several folders and one of them is 'Music', put all your .mp3, .wma files inside. Properly disconnect the psp and check you songs under music player.
Just connect your psp to your pc or laptop using your usb cable and then it will prompt you and there you go, you may open it, just go to the My Computer and find and select the removable disk and that's it!

what it doesn't tell you in the instuctions is that you should make a new folder called music in the psp folders window when it pops up showing whats saved on your psp.
Make sure you have a decent size duo memory card fitted as this is where the songs will be saved; not on the psp itself.
But in your psp settings make sure you have selected USB connection or it wont connect and show anything on your pc.
