Question about Lexmark X1270 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I have been on the phone with Lexmark support three times. They even sent me a new installation disc and I am still having problems. I cannot get the software to download correctly in order to get the printer up and running with my new Toshiba laptop. It tends to do the installation process and then when I go to enable the software it starts looking for files that cannot be found which tells me that the installation was not done correctly.
how are you doing ?
well if you any antivirus installed particularly with the firewall u must go to firewall setting then go to add and block program, there u have to mark all the lexmark files, and should apply it .
Before that do uninsatllation of the lexmark software and the drivers from the program itself not from controle panel. If you try to uninstall it from controle panel the programm will be uninstalled it but it will not be able to delete the registry files from your windows vista.
YOU DO HAVE THE CD THE LEXMARK HAS SENT YOU .
THERE IS ONE SOFTWARE IN THT NAME CLEANUP VISTA. INSATLL IT , AFTER UN-INSATLLATION OF THE SOFTWARE IS DONE,
INSTALL CLEANUP VISTA, IT WILL CLEANUP THE REGISTRY FILES WHICH RE LEFT IN THE REGISTRY SYSTEM.
Then second solution is to go this website ftp.lexmark.com
try to download the software - make a clean installtion .

Have you gone online and downloaded the driver from the lexmark.com site?
Have you turned OFF all anti virus software, firewalls and pop up blockers? Turn off programs like Spy Bot, Adaware and spy ware blockers. Spy Bot in particular will make that software hard to load.
It sounds to me like one of your security software programs are stopping your setup. That is a very common problem.

The Lexmark X2500 all-in-one multifunction printer, discontinued as of May 2011, will not install on Windows Vista or Windows 7 using the installation disc. The installation disc predates the newer editions of the Windows operating system and so you will run into difficulty when trying to install the printer. Lexmark has released up to date drivers on their website. Once you have downloaded the drivers, you can install the printer and begin using the device.
Go to the Lexmark X2500 Support and Downloads page (see Resources).
Click "Drivers and Downloads."
Click the link for either the "64 bit" or the "32 bit" drivers, depending on the version of Windows you are using.
Double-click the file once it has downloaded. Click "Next" throughout the driver setup. Connect and switch on the Lexmark X2500 printer when prompted by the installer. Click "Restart" at the end to restart your computer.
