Dashboard lights I need to replace 8 lightbulbs on the dashboard of a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan. It appears that there are two screws in the center of the instrument cluster. When I remove them, what kind of brackets am I going to have to deal with to remove the plastic on the speedometer assembly to replace the bulbs? I'm afraid to snap the brackets.

Thanks agu621. Once I removed the instr. cluster, I noticed the bulbs in the rear of the cluster. A 1/4 twist and out they came. I replaced/tested each one at a time. Whole job took under an hour.

    Thanks again.

You need to remove th whole inst. cluster to replace the bulbs that are located on the BACK side in bulb carriers. Usually turning a 1/4 turn to the left reomves the carries in order to replace the bulbs. Some manufactuers, you have to replace the bulb carrier/socket and bulb as a unit , others just pull the bulb and replace with the SAME type bulb as removed. Most instrument carriers will have on the back what the particular bulb in a specific position is used for by a symbal and the wattage for the also ie: 2.5, which is 2.5 watts. In remove ing the cluster be very careful removeing the connectors from the back. There are certain ways each has to be released to come off but usally can only go in a certain location in the cluster, just make a mental note to yourself has you disconnect them and you will be fine. Grand caravan problems

I'm assuming fuses are all checked and good. Even though your grammar and spelling isn't. To me, it sounds like a voltage regulator... Or very possibly a short circuit in the ignition circuit. I'd check voltages from the alternator while the car is running. Then check voltages on the dashboard (center console controls should be easy to get to, the bezel just pops off after two screws at the bottom are removed). If the alternator voltage is good (12.5-15V is my guess), but the dashboard gets much less, then the voltage regulator may be having an issue. I'm not sure if that's an independent part or part of the ECM (the computer). If the dashboard gets nothing, I'm betting a short circuit on the alternator current... Check wiring at pinch points under the hood.

Dashboard lights not working

Try and look under the steering wheel area for a fuse block. When you pull off the cover there should be schematics on fuses. Go 1 by 1 pulling them and replacing if ok, otherwise replace the ones tht are bad.

All dashboard/ center console lights out.

Test the dash first. Put key in hold down trip reset botton. Turn the key to on but don't start. Release the trip botton. Should turn on all dash lights & check for codes in the odometer. If getting codes reply back.

Dashboard lights don't work

Make sure that when you check the fuses you use a test light applied to both sides of the fuse you are testing. It can be very difficult to see a fuse that is blown when the fuse is blown near the edges. PS the dash fuse is by itself and needs to be checked when the light switch is on.

Model 2002 dodge grand caravan sports dashboard not working speedometer, tachometer and fuel gauge

If you look under the dashboard on the driver's side, there is a fuse panel. Under this panel is the BCM(body control module). There may be a bad relay in the bcm. Worse case scenario is a bad BCM. I hope this information is helpful to you, Good luck.
