Question about Car Audio Receivers

Dashboard lights I need to replace 8 lightbulbs on the dashboard of a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan. It appears that there are two screws in the center of the instrument cluster. When I remove them, what kind of brackets am I going to have to deal with to remove the plastic on the speedometer assembly to replace the bulbs? I'm afraid to snap the brackets.

Thanks agu621. Once I removed the instr. cluster, I noticed the bulbs in the rear of the cluster. A 1/4 twist and out they came. I replaced/tested each one at a time. Whole job took under an hour.

    Thanks again.

You need to remove th whole inst. cluster to replace the bulbs that are located on the BACK side in bulb carriers. Usually turning a 1/4 turn to the left reomves the carries in order to replace the bulbs. Some manufactuers, you have to replace the bulb carrier/socket and bulb as a unit , others just pull the bulb and replace with the SAME type bulb as removed. Most instrument carriers will have on the back what the particular bulb in a specific position is used for by a symbal and the wattage for the also ie: 2.5, which is 2.5 watts. In remove ing the cluster be very careful removeing the connectors from the back. There are certain ways each has to be released to come off but usally can only go in a certain location in the cluster, just make a mental note to yourself has you disconnect them and you will be fine. How do i remove the am fm radio from my 96 gmc suburban?

I believe to get the radio out you need to look around the dashboard cover plate(part of the dashboard that surrounds the radio) and find where there are screws. Make sure you remove all of the screws. Then remove the part of the dashboard that you just loosened. You should find that the radio is sitting in a sort of metal frame. Unscrew this frame and carefully pull it out(make sure not to rip any wires!!). Then remove the radio from the little "frame" by removing the screws that hold it in there. Then you can examine the radio. If the radio is truely working fine then it may be the speakers or wires that are faulty. This is usually the standard setup for most 90's cars. I hope that this is somewhat helpful for you!! Good Luck!

Tail and dashboard fuse keeps blowning

unhook black wire from harness and the ground from pioneer unit install the ground wire from pioneer unit to frame of car (you may need extra wire to do this) make sure the black wire from pioneer unit is bolted to frame of car not to the harness black wire........fuses will no longer blow and you will have your lights.

Radio install

it's not that hard to remove the panel you'll need to pop up the defrost dashboard trim with a flat head screw driver and then you'll reveal the top screws for the center panel, then you'll need to pop out your ash tray and reveal the bottom screws. after all screws are out you'll be able to remove center panel by hand. then there will be 4 bolts holding your radio to the dash that you'll need to remove and you're done.
