Sony KP51WS520- stand by light flashes 9 times and won't turn on. Have unpluged for 4 hours, still won't turn on.

    I have access to purchasing the parts as I work at a company that builds circuit boards. I need the parts list for this TV so I can order the correct components for D6301 & D6116 as well as the switching regulator

Unplug the tv, take the back off,locate the G board, next look for D 6301,and D 6116,these are diodes,desolder them and replace them,if that didnot fix it,then change the switching regulator also,its also on G board..use a desoldering iron to remove parts, then wick wire to get the access solder off the pin holes to resolder parts.hope this helps.....

Normally if I leave my TV in an AV mode with nothing plugged in, it starts flashing the red led..

Greetings, This is direct from the Sony Service manual

9 times, Diagnosis: Audio error. Possible causes: +- 19V line is shorted. (A, B boards), IC708 is faulty. (A board), PS701 or PS702 is opened. (A board). Symptoms of the problem: No sound or picture. Fails to start

Because of the intracies and risks of electrocution and radiation in this repair I suggest you arrange for a tech, rather than to attempt it yourself. Often changing the faulty component or the actual boards, fails to resolve the problem totally as it may have become damaged deeper into the circuit.

Press in order on the SONY remote "display - 5 - vol. down - power" .that will show diagnostics indicating 9 Zero Cross Detect . You shoud take it to a servicer.

Tv tunrns on then goes to stand by flashes 4 times & repeats
turn tv on picture comes up 2to3 seconds later tv blacks out then stand by red light flashes 4 times in a row repeatedly..can not turn on or off when stand by light starts flashing but before tv blacks out you can turn tv on and off repeatedly and picture and sound work.You have to unplug power cord for 30 seconds after stand by light comes on to get tv to turn on.

TV won't turn on
There's a small diode on the power supply board that causes this. Its identifiable by its purple stripe. You will need the correct type of diode to fix this properly. The diode supplies the standby voltage to the system control circuit, so when it fails, the TV will never come on.
