Some refills won't work on some printers, because the printer actually reads a chip on the print cartridge, a good refil will have been reset, if you did it yourself, or if the company you bought it from did apply the chip reset device on it, the printer will never allow you to use it, thanks HP for the wonderful idea grrr. Be careful with refills anyhow, because some printers use easy clogging ink and refills can be dangerous.

After changing ink cartridge incoming faxes won't print. Does something have to be reset?

Some machines recognize you changed the ink cartridge and some do not. If you shut it down and restart it, this usually helps it reset.

Have put new cartridges in and only prints yellow lines

Remove all cartridges, make sure any tape has been removed from over the nozzle. Ensure that everything has been installed properly, then use your printer (prompts on device, or in printer>control panel) to print some test pages, realign heads, etc.

How do i change the toner on this copy machine?

Canon iR3300 copier /image runner is a best machine which is not needed any expert mechanic. Thanks to the manufacturer. If the toner in the cartridge was completed a message may be displayed on the screen that 'refill the toner'. Even though there will be a small quantuty of toner in the cartridge the message may be appear on the screen. Please don't bother about this mesaage. You may think the machine be damaged some where else. You might have handling the 'motor bike' or 'scooter' and you may experienced about the resrve . i.e. even though there is some petrol in the petrol tank of vehicle , the vihicle may stops to work. After filling of the petrol the vehile may run as usual. So , after the reserve of toner in the cop[ier the machine will stops to work. The you have to refill the toner cartridge with the fine quality toner of 1/2 kg or with 1kg. The cost of the toner may be Rs.500/- to Rs.650/- depending on the quality and the company and availability of the toner in the market. The toner must be compatible with the iR 3300 copier. After purchasing of the toner you must shufle the toner bag up and down nearly (100) times , so that the toner in the bag may thouroghly mixed and see that there will not be hard particles. Then remove the front cover gently and turn the side levers 1). left lever to left side and 2). right lever to down side. Then gently drag the toner cartridge of only 3/4 size. Please don't try to remove the toner cartridge completly out side of the machine. The costliest cartridge and not avialability of the new cartridge in the market may be break. At the front and top of the cartridge , there will be small lever attached to the cover of cartridge . Just hold the front ant and top of the cartridge with middle fingers and thumb fingers either side of the cartridge by both the hands and just press the levers out side towards you with the fore fingers of both the hands.. Then drag the cover only 3/4 of cover out side towards yourself. Make a small hole at the corner of the toner bag and pour the toner gently in to the cartridge. while pouring the toner in to the cartridge gently move the cartridge inside and out side , so that the toner may evenly spread in the cartridge. After pouring of hole toner , close the cover the cartridge by pressing the edge of the cover from out side and then press the cartridge in to the machine and there after turn the levers in to the original position and close the front cover.

Uneven printing]

Your cartridge is not able to supply that density of ink for that number of lines of solid color.

Could be any of the following:
1. Dirt in the cartridge
2. Low ink level
3. Bad ink in a refilled cartridge

Solution:
1. Print 1 copy in "draft" mode to see if cartridge can keep up. If so, it is simply ink supply... Replace cartridge, refill cartridge.

2. Run the "Clean" maintenance routine before trying to print a strong demand image.

3. Replace the printer for a quality image device (laser is best, all others are less). Good quality HP is better in inkjets. Decent Lexmark is fair - but VERY expensive to own/run/maintain. Kodak is cheap enough to buy and keep filled. Reliability is a potential problem...

Hope this provides some useable insight. -Jim
