Radio Shack Multimeter, 22-168a, shunt resistor value????

Go to the Radio Shack site and you may with the model number find a schematic or you can email/contact them for the value of the resistor.

I predict it is a precision value and type you will have to get from them if available.

PS: you posted in wrong catagory as this is TV section.

Resistors

I dont have the service manual for that model, However they are located right next to the convergence Ics and there will be quite a few and they will be all Identical should be about 8 to 10 resistors. If you can get me the board location number such as R356 etc, I can find out the rating. I would doubt that Radio Shack would have them as they are metal film usually anywhere from 1/2 up to 2watt resistors . But if you can locate the resistors near the ICs I can tell you the ratings if you give me the board location of one of the resistors.

radio shack should have that resistor. Another option is check with the tV repair shops locally. Most distributors will not sell 1 resistor but most TV shops will and radio shack may have it or can order it.

use solder wick or a desoldering iron from radio shack which will **** up the solder so you easially remove the IC. Radio shack has a in-expensive desoldering iron with a rubber bulb which makes this easy.

Vertical lines

Get some freeze spray from radio shack then try placing a little spray on each chip on the video board and power supply board and each time you spray a chip look for the picture to clear up. When the lines go away you have located the bad IC.
