I have a two year old Redstone 30,000 BTU propane wall heater. There is a lot of dust behind the unit. After running for awhile on the 2 setting, it shuts down and the pilot is extinguished.

If it is a wall unit, it has an over temp safety switch which is most likely tripping from dust preventing proper airflow across it . A good cleaning should cure this.

When the unit is turned on, for the first 15 minutes or so, there is a distinct stale mouldy smell. I suspect dust collected on the unit coils is being wet by condensensation and it smells as the first air...

You can check the cause of that smell if you have the tools to open the unit. The first test is to place a piece of paper in front of the evaporator and start the fan. If the paper is **** or stays in front of the evaporator, you have a clean evaporator. If it is not ****, you need to open and clean the unit. The blower may be filled with dust and molds. It is best to find someone who knows how to work and clean your a/c unit

I have purchased a Pioneer SX-636 receiver from ebay. Receiver looks great, everything works, but the inside is covered with thick brown dust on everything, any ideas how to safely clean greatly...

The only way to clean this is to use conmplressed air to remove as much dust as possible. The use of an electronics cleaner is next. These usually come in a spray can and will clean the board without harm to the components. Take care NOT to touch or change any coils in any way. These are tuned to receive AM and FM signals and changing their shape can alter their values.

Please note that the fact that there is dirt and debris will not affect the functioning of the unit.

Let us know how you make out.

I have cleaned it and now it won't start

Hi. Use the process of elimination. When it is pluged to the wall socket. does the motor hum? If yes, that means it is getting electric. If no hum, the motor is not getting electric and there is a brake in the wire or the on/off switch, most time it is at the plug. ( a lot of people just pull the wire out by pulling the cord , thus pulling the wires out and away from the plug prongs. I would UNPULG the chopper and try turning the the blades, they should turn back and forth, if they don't turn it could be a build up of coffee grinds and dust. If your handi take the thing apart and clean out the motor conpartment and oil it. The unit if made like everything today is made in China and there is no place to have it fixed. Take in to account the shipping charges to and fro. Then go out and try to buy one made in the USA. Good luck. Ron

The 3 disc player on the Denon D-C35 3 n 1 unit selects the chosen disc , loads then unloads it with out playing it. Can I fix this myself thanks Ron Thorpe

First clean the laser head with a Qtip and alcohol. It gotta be perfectly clean, so wipe with fresh brand name qtip and make sure there is not a single dust particle on it. You gotta remove the cabinet with star screwdriver. Your beam might be tired, Denon doest have the longest laser beam assembly lifetime, usually after 4 years, problem start. First try with the clean up!

Playstation 2 console

Hi Ron, To the best of my Troubleshooting knowledge on the Slim, this sounds like a Temperature problem. Do not lay the Slim on the carpet when playing and try not to keep it in sunlight. It will last you much longer to shut it off when not using it. Let it cool off and try it again. If dust is the culprit, you will need to disassemble the Slim and clean it out, mainly the fan. The Slims fan is very succeptable to dust accumulation.
