Can Heat Pumps be contaminated by Dust.

That makes a little sense to me.. the air is heated or cooled as it's blown through cooling and heating coils. The filters might have blocked the dust on the intake side, but the exhaust into each room wouldn't be protected, and the coils are on that side.

I'm not in heating and cooling.

Emerson air conditioner filter cover

if you want to clean the coil on it, you need to get a wire brush and gently brush the dust off. be very careful not to bend the metal fins shut. you could ruin the unit if you do so

When the unit is turned on, for the first 15 minutes or so, there is a distinct stale mouldy smell. I suspect dust collected on the unit coils is being wet by condensensation and it smells as the first air...

You can check the cause of that smell if you have the tools to open the unit. The first test is to place a piece of paper in front of the evaporator and start the fan. If the paper is **** or stays in front of the evaporator, you have a clean evaporator. If it is not ****, you need to open and clean the unit. The blower may be filled with dust and molds. It is best to find someone who knows how to work and clean your a/c unit

I have 2 Carrier units, one for downstairs and another for upstairs. I think the blower unit must be in the attic. Do I have to go up into the attic to replace any filters? Do I need 2 EZ Flex FIlter...

You may or may not have to go into attic, depends if an additional filter system is installed. May have filter grille's install in ceiling, or wall. If no filter's on the interior, then there should be in the furnance or filter rack in the attic. Filters should be used for no more than 3 months without changing or cleaning if washable.

How do you clean the blower wheel in the unit as it is full of dust

The simplest way, is to you canned air with a straw nozzle (like you clean your computer with) to blow the dust off the blades. Be careful not to blow it in your face. Then wipe the unit off with a damp rag.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

I turn off the a/c but the compressor don`t stop it continuing running the only way to stop the compressor is when I unplugged the unit, so can you help me to know what part need to be replace. thank you

The Master ON/OFF Switch either needs cleaning or replacing. I'd try cleaning it first with electrical contact cleaner. Be sure the ON/Off Switch is in the OFF position, before you unplug the unit, to take the face off to clean the switch & it's contacts.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

TCL-12 CHE/s Mid-wall split unit. The unit is fully operational. The display on the front panal "jumps" - the room temperature display temperature "jumps" Thanks Harold

Clips with PCB loose contacts. Find and rectify. If not clean with blower with minimum speed. Dust forming on display sensor will create these type of jumping.

Spw-kr254 sanyo wall mount. unit operates in heating , when in cooling will operate for a good 10 mins then fans stop running and on/off button flashes

Check your condenser unit is ful of dust? Clean it. And also weaken capacitor unit runs for 5 to 10 minutes only. Replace capacitor.

How to remove the front panel holding the air louvers...

We have a FAC127P1A and if you gently pull the lower cover by holding each side where there is an indentation it will lower so you can get to the filter. Then either replace or wash the filter. We have another model, FAA087P7A1, and we were able to pull the cover down and lift up slightly and remove the cover and wash to remove the collection of dust, etc.

On this latter model there is a collection of dust, etc. in the area where the cooling is blown into the room that I would like to know how to remove for cleaning. I feel it is unhealthy the way it is now and would like to clean it before removing for the season. I know I could use q-tips or a small piece of cloth to clean but that is pain staking.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Fujitsu ducted air con cant switch on

Prevent any direct sunlight from heating up the room the unit is in. Clean the dust filter every month or as often as it needs it. Limit using any heat generating appliances such as stoves, ovens, microwave ovens, hair dryers, etc.,..
