tried to load a dvd lens cleaner first in your dvd player, to remove dirt and sticky part of the cd.if still no disk, at this time you will need to check the dvd tray and assembly which the spindle motor not rotating.

All DVD players use a dual laser pick up. One laser is for CD/VCD/MP3 and the other laser is only for DVD. If you have watched more DVD and less CD's you could be having a problem with the DVD laser. Must have become week and the system cannot read the disk. Change of the lens unit will solve your problem.

When the web page first loads, have a look on the left hand side of the page and click on the little PDF file with the text under neath that says "download the complete user guide"... You will then be taken to a a security page, where you have to copy the falling numbers from one box to the other and then Click Download user guide..

You will then have the manual for this CD player

try running an optical disk cleaner it worked for me but I have to clean often.........a cheap fix if it works.

If this model displays Wrong Disc even when you play all kinds of CDs, you may want to buy a CD/DVD laser cleaner for it.

Its defective. Coby doesn't repair the units. The lense is off balance which is causing the laser to not read the dvd/cd.

If the unit is showing "wrong disk" on every disk that you try to play, unfortunately, the unit has developed a defect and needs to be replaced. It can not be repaired. Our warranty is 90 days from the date of purchase. If you received the unit as a Xmas present, please call 1-800-727-3592 for instructions on getting the unit exchanged.
