I want a app to block unknown callers

Only advice I have is to set custom ring tones for everyone in your contact list. Then set your main tone as silent. When someone in your contact list calls it will ring with the tone you manually set for that contact. When someone not in your contacts calls it will be set to silent.

It is silent mode. will not ring using my ring tone

Silent mode keeps your phone from ringing using any ring tone. Take your phone off silent.

When someone texts or calls me my phone vibrates instead of ring

You probably have silent mode on. Try pressing and holding the pound or the star key. One of those will probably release silent mode, so that whatever ring setting you have can be used.

How to deactivate silent mode of SGH-E250 model

Press and hold the # button until it tells you its on normal mode. If this still doesnt work go into settings, profile settings, then i think it will be general and change the ring/message tone as it must be on off..if that makes sense. hope i helped.

I had the same problem - on the left hand side of the phone (not the screen) if there is a red dot showing you have switched your phone to silent. Click the switch and your phone will ring
