Question about D-Link DBT-120 (ASKU22981) Wireless Adapter

1 Answer

Connectivity problems My DBT-120 was working perfectly until a few weeks ago. I've been trying to connect it to a wacom tablet, but every time I click "new connection" it says "Bluetooth is not ready." I've been trying to find a solution, but all the guides just say "turn on the connectivity switch." But the light on the bluetooth is green. The icon on my desktop is red. What's going on? I'm desperate for help.

If you are on a Mac then...
I also had problems losing the use of my Apple Bluetooth keyboard in combination with the D-Link DBT-120 dongle.

I fixed it by going to System Preferences > Bluetooth > Advanced > and changed the default Bluetooth-PDA-Sync popup menu from "Modem" to the "RS-232" port.

This fixed the loss of my Apple Bluetooth keyboard during reboots and it also fixed all of the Bluetooth error messages I was getting in the Console > System Log... as well as all of the Bluetooth error messages I was getting during SUM (i.e. Single User Mode... Command-S during startup).

How do I get my cellphone and tablets to connect to my tplink router? Without changing anything some devices are able to connect but my one tablet and phone dont. Why does this happen and how do I fix

If all devices say they are connected then check the Internet light on the router to make sure it's lit. It usually looks like a little globe. They may be connected to the router but the wireless is not connected to the Internet. Try unplugging the router for 30 seconds anf then plugging it back in. If that doesn't work call your service provider.

Drivers for windows xp

The d-link dbt 122 can not be found on the american version of the d-link support page (only the dbt 120). It can be found on the danish version: dlink.dk, but the driver and software provided by d-link is very outdated.
You need a copy of the Broadcom "widcomm bluetooth stack". This is a standard driver for a lot of different bluetooth adapters.
You can download it from:
http://www.broadcom.com/products/bluetooth_update.php

or use the Acer download link: (works for d-link dbt 122, tested!)

Are you connecting to your own wireless router? If yes, have you changed anything in its configuration, or inadvertently reset it? If you're connecting to someone else's router (neighbor, etc.) it could be that they have locked you out. Does the wireless network show as secured? This sounds more like a security issue than hardware or driver.

Router Loses Connectivity or "Locks Up" over time.

supposedly the firmware 1.03 was suppose to fix this. However, I still have the problem and when i try to unplug the power to the router and plug it back in, then it often times just lights up all the lights solid and refuses to work. I have to unplug it again and again to get it to work.

It usually will work for a few weeks at a time then have a really bad day where it locks up every 10min to an hour. Gets really annoying.
