Question about Epson RX595 Photo All-In-One Printer

Epson Stylus Photo RX595

I just bought this Epson Printer 2-16-08 & already I am having problems with the scanner. everything else will work but I can not scan . I get a message " Epson Scan Can not be started" I have gone through trouble shooting & no help. I have uninstalled & reinstalled - still no help. Any help would be appreciated. I am so fustrated I am thinking of returning it.

    I have a Epson Stylus photo RX595 . It scans , copies & prints & also has the cd print .My operating system is Windows Vista ultimate. the error message just showed up 2 days ago for no reason at all. I have tried uninstalling it & reinstalling & making sure drivers were up todate, even went to the epson website . I even uninstalled Nortons- because I figured it had something to do with it. however even with it totally uninstalled it still gives me the same message. I went out & bought another cord , that wasn't it either. I managed to get it to work through one of my photoshop programs. I can not understand why it will not allow me to scan like I normally did .still working with it.

    This is the second Epson printer I had, the first one was a RX700 & it lasted only a year. so I bought another Epson only because of the features .

    Back again with the same problem, I had it working , so I thought through twain, - Nope - that quit working also..



    The message shows up after I have Uninstalled Epson RX595 totally & Reinstalled it again . I atempt to use the Scan icon on desktop & in all programs . still does the same thing. I am Breathing Flames now people - I am just about to chew someone a new ..... . Anyone else has any idea what I can do other then what I've done so far. Please Please.help.

    I finally Just called Epson & Again went over the same stuff I already did as well as doing the device manager thing & so forth. they are telling me they will send me another Epson since it is still under warrenty. Like I explained to the guy , I may have the same issues & if I do I will Bring the Epson back to Best Buys & get a different one. Give this one last shot. Thanks for the advice I do appreciate it.

Check in device manager if there is a yellow exlamation mark on your scanner if you do , right click it and choose update driver.
if you don't, install sp2 for xp or sp4 if you use windows 2000.

Go to device manager and in the firewall section unblock the printer....
there may be some program blocking the printer....

Error Epson Stylus Photo PX660 - Close the Scanner Unit


maybe the scanner rail of scanner has been stuck that's why when you turn on your printer there's an error!!! or if you can try to open the scanner and clean the motor and the belt.

it might dirt or something that causing your printer to turn it on or causes-sing error.

for my opinion plss.. check the scanner we have desame cases in my printer too. I open the scanner and clean it then it works..

I have feint lines across photos and have done head clean. Epson Stylus photo R220.


Well, here's your problem: that's a six year-old printer. I used to have it and and 2007 I replaced it with an Epson Stylus Photo RX595 AIO because like the R220, the RX595 has the ability to print directly onto inkjet printable CD's/DVD's. Your printheads/nozzles are shot and all the cleaning in the world will not fix them and it's certainly won't be cost effective to have repaired when you can get a current model for less than the repair price. Mine went after two years. Honestly, it's amazing that this printer lasted as long as it has. Six years has to be some kind of record.

Paper jam has been cleared, but paper jam message remains.


Try these steps and see if it resolves your problem. Hope it helps:

Follow these steps to clear a paper jam:
  1. Press the cp_button_45_er.gif Start button to eject the jammed paper. If that doesn't work, go to step 2.


  2. Turn off the Epson Stylus.


  3. Lift open the scanner and remove any paper inside, including any torn pieces.


  4. Close the scanner, then turn the Epson Stylus back on.

Scanner error


Press the On button to turn off the Stylus Photo RX500. Unlock the transportation lock. Make sure that all packaging materials have been removed. Turn on your Stylus Photo RX500 again. If the error message still appears, call Epson so they can replace your printer.

Epson Scanner will not work


I finally called Epson & They had me again do everything I already done . They are now sending me a replacement epson Rx595 . Should recieve itby next week .

Problems printing from my Epson RX 595


>disconnect the unit from the computer
>try to make a standalone copy
>if the message still appears on the printer´s LCD screen, hardware issue
>contact vendor for warranty
