i have acer travelmate 290 laptop, recently I formated my laptop and I installed windows xp home edition on it, every thing works fine after I installed the operating system with my acer recovery disk, but when i switch on my wireless button it gives blue screen and immediatly restart the laptop. i tried uninstalled and installed the wireless drivers no luck.
if a computer boot up only until the windows xp screen not on windows environment...usually it is because of corrupted system...
your pc will never boot until the logo if there is a problem in your video card, sound card, memory or power supply...
so i suspected that there is a problem in your operating sysyem..try to run system restore if you have...
if not you need to format your operating system so that you can use your laptop again...
note: i have also experienced a problem with boot until the windows logo, but i found out that the problem is not the operating sytem...i found out that my client's capacitors in his motherboard are damaged...maybe due to over use or improper cooling system...if you can check it that's much better so that you can prevent waste of money...
