Question about JVC HD-61Z886 61" Rear Projection HDTV
Actually when JVC tv's turn green the light engine is going bad. I repair lots and lots of these. The engine can be rebuild for about $500 installed. IT is a known problem for us tv techs. I have 1 engine left if you know a tech who can install it. These sell for $300. This fixes the problem which is the green chip color breaking down and smearing. All whites look green. The best way to tell is to turn the color all the way down and see if you still see green tint. It works best on a black and whit picture if poss. but any will do. Usally it shows more in one section on the picture but is green all over. my number is 270-996-7629 if you have any questions.

Screwy in what way. splochs..purple areas...on a blue screen what is color like. on a all white or mostly white what is it as a tech we would put a raster generator on it. to see which areas are effected. there are case on this particular model where a technician has to reset the color with a software upgrade. this requires special software and computer interface.
