After sending file to print, grinding noise comes from printer; error message comes up saying Check Printer, then won't print file.

Looked inside printer to see any obstructions (none found). Took out and reinstalled printhead. No help.

Is the canon multipass f60 compatible with windows vista (on an hp laptop)?

Canon does not offer Vista drivers for the MultiPass F60. Vista may have some generic drivers that will work, so don't delete or over-ride them in the system.

The major problem is that the printer only supports USB 1.1 and not USB 2.0

Canon f60

before you clean your printer head, try identify if there're other problems, for example maybe your ink is running low, this will cause bad quality printing. To clean your printer go to control panel, click printers and other hardware, click printers, right click on your printer icon and select properties, click on the tab maintenance and you will see what options are availible. In your case my look for something said cleaning. (NB: this is winXP)
