Why dose my rear shock on my 250 dirt bike make a cracking noise

try each suspension bolt in turn just so they are loose and move suspension up and down , as i think that one of the bushes could be dry of grease! when was the last time the rear suspension system and the swing arm pivot spindle was removed and greased up ?? some pivot points mite have a grease nipple , but i suggest if this is the problem to remove and clean bolts and the holes then grease up so to last ! depends how much you use the bike in wet or sandy conditions as when to repeat this also !!

Squeeky noise in suspension when bumpy. what is cause?

In the old days, when you took your car in for an oil change, you also asked for a "lubrication".
That was a process where they took a grease gun and lubricated your fittings under the front and center of the car.
They also sprayed your rubber parts like bushings and grommets with a lubricant. We don't do that anymore.
Now, your rubber bushings and grommets get ignored.
You probably have some that are squeaking, unless you have a failed ball joint (somewhat likely) or tie rod end.
(Not too likely, as they don't usually make noise when they fail.)
If you will find a way to get under the car and have someone bounce it up and down, you may find the offending part.
A name of a lubricant is "Ru-glyde".
Be blessed..

Compressor makes a loud squeeky noise

Could just be a worn belt or faulty or loose tensioner. Does it only make noise when AC compressor kicks in? If it's not a metallic sound, and sound more like a screech/squeel, then I'd look close at belt condition, and tension.

When I hit a bump it sounds like my bike is bottoming out. The noise is pretty loud. Is this a frame problem, shocks, or drive belt problem?

If your bike's suspension is bottoming out, it'll feel just like it did when you rode off the curb on your bicycle when you were young. Instead of the suspension absorbing the shock, you'd get a bone jarring slam when the suspension runs out of it's travel. In this case, you need to put more air pressure in your suspension system on your Ultra. If it is not an air suspension, adjust the rear shocks to a tighter preload and put a heavier weight oil put in the front forks.

Check the tension of the drive belt by having someone measure the deflection of the belt when ten pounds of force is applied to the middle of the lower belt run with you sitting on the bike. It should be about a 1/2" or so. Some bikes are different and since I don't have an owner's manual for all of them, I'd suggest calling the service department of your local dealer. They should be able to tell you the setting. They also sell a special tool for applying the ten pounds of force to the belt. It's not expensive either.

Good Luck

A cracking noise is coming from the rear suspension when the bike is bounced, could it be one of the neadle bearings?

Yes, dry needle bearings can make that sort of sound. I suggest a complete teardown and inspection of all the bearings in the rear suspension. Replace any that are rusted or otherwise worn excessively, then re-pack each with the recommended grease upon reassembly.
To prevent premature failure in the future, avoid directing high-pressure water spray at these areas when cleaning your bike.

Squeeky car!!!

Hi.
it is worth checking the rear seat mounting brackets and fixings.
Earlier models suffered with a similar problem and the noise sounded like a rear suspension problem.

Hope this helps.

Squeeky back break

could the pads have already worn down so fast?  has anyone had this problem? The higher the humidity the more noise mine makes not so loud as to be a squeal but noticeable. I kind of doubt they are worn out. You may have a shoe thats glazed that would do it also. The linings may need to be lapped down at the edges. Any drum brake rear bike squeals if the edges are higher than the center found that out on a Suzuki GT 250 I had 25 years ago. ,,,

Nissan primera squeeky noise from front suspension

Hi
I had the same problem. It cast me lot money in changing few things but finally found. The side where the noise comes from look fro the supension arm it is connecting the main suspensionto the body. You have to change that or find silicon oil and spray around the bushes of the arm.

good luck
