How do i check out what the problem is? I will need step by step instructions...it is not too old a couple years it has a hole in the front ...HELP! thank you!
Assuming the dryer is a whirplool. after turning machine on it will start to rotate and with in a few seconds, you should here a definate "click"and then youll see your ignitor glowing though that little access hole in front. the gas comes on and your drying!didnt hear the click??? most likly a bad thermal fuse , located behind machine by removing back cover, a white thermostat with two wires(probly light blue), maybe 2 inches long and 1/4 in wide.90% of time thats the issue, if so check for properclearventing(it overheats and blows for safety reasons)

Hi,
If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.
if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....
If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.
check out this electric no heat tip...

Gas Dryer no flame
Model Number: mdg308daww Brand: Maytag Age: 1 - 5 years
I hear one click as I start the dryer and the tumbling begins. There seems to be no heat. When I turn off I hear one click again. I changed the ignitor and the solinoid coils. The original ignitor read 46 ohms and the new one reads 18 ohms. The new ignitor seems a bit different because the ceramic part is a bit larger but the metal part seems identical and it fits in the place fine so I believe it is the correct part for my unit. I checked continuity on the thermal fuse, radiant sensor and the thermostat that are all located in the same area around the gas tubing assembly. All of these parts read 0 ohms, which I believe is fine. I removed the exhaust tubing to see if that was the problem and it still would not heat up. I have not looked inside to see if there is glowing or anything while the machine tumbles. I do not believe there is a view hole. Please help!!!
