TheLastStraw,

Pardon the pun, but it "sounds" like you need a new sound card. I recommend TigerDirect for quality parts, service, and shipping.

Please let me know if this helps. Good luck!

you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make

sure the connection is good with no dust as dust causes static electricity

clean your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is

no MOISTURE in the air line or use a can of compressed air specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit

dust causes static to build up in a computer

if its a desktop swap the speakers around if one still does not work its either a faulty speaker or the speaker connection

The speakers don't work at all. The blue light goes on fine, but there's no sound. They used to work fine with my iPod and iPhone, but not anymore.

Hi, Have they been turned off?
These speakers have a habit of setting their volume level to zero if the power is removed.
At the bottom of the right-hand speaker you should see some tiny volume up/down buttons.
Try pressing the up and see what happens.

This is Creative's support link. The speakers you have are Dell. Do you have a sound card installed? If you have a speaker icon in your taskbar, lower right of screen, does it have a red X? Right click on it then, click on playback devices. A window should open with your device. Does anything show up and if it does does it show it "working"? Right click on it and a window should open and you should see "enable" or "disable", if it shows enable, click on that and exit. If you are still ahving problems with this let me know at "add a comment"

Need driver for Altec Lansing 221 Operating Sys Vista

The independent site providing the software is not working anymore, and the 221 are not anymore in factory product page. I think the best thing to do is contacting directly Altec Lansing, and asking a replacement cd.
